A Sweet & Spirited Stop in Kinsale 🍯🍷 - If you’re anywhere near Kinsale and don’t stop by the Kinsale Mead Co., you’re missing out on a hidden gem that’s part ancient history, part modern magic—and 100% delicious. We had an absolute blast on our tour, led by the amazing Stuart, who is basically the mead whisperer. His passion and knowledge shine through every part of the experience—from the fascinating origin stories of mead (Vikings! Celts! Mythology!) to the careful craft behind every bottle they produce today. Stuart didn’t just give a tour—he gave a performance. He made learning about fermentation, tasting honey varietals, and barrel-aging feel like a TED Talk meets a tasting flight. Plus, the sample tastings were chef’s kiss. (spoiler alert: we did not leave empty-handed). It was educational, engaging, and downright fun. Whether you’re a seasoned wine lover, a history buff, or just someone who likes a good drink with a good story—go visit. You’ll leave with a buzz (of knowledge and maybe a bit of mead), a smile, and maybe a few new bottles for your collection. Thank you, Stuart and team—Sláinte! 🥂🐝

Must do in Kinsale - Stuart knows and enjoys his mead and mead history! Great energy to share with us touring. The mead is phenomenal, nothing like what you get in the US. The honey tasting is also a big treat. Great before tasting the mead!

Mead is the Bees Knees! - We had a lovely time touring Kinsale Mead Co.! Zara was fun and knowledgeable. The Mead Fairy was magical. Fascinating how different mead can be using different ingredients and aging techniques. We got to taste honey from all over the world and the mead that is made from them. Ireland should be proud to have domestic mead producers again after a 200 year absence!

Fun informative meadery tour that’s good for a rainy day - Very informative and tasty tour of the meadery. Neat thing to do on a rainy day. Guide was fun and knowledgeable. Would’ve liked a copy of the history mural (I should’ve taken a photo). It wasn’t clear whether we could buy mead by the glass there after the tour; I would’ve had a glass or two!
