• Torc Waterfall - Walk through the primary forest to discover a truly charming waterfall.
• Ladies’ View - A stunning viewpoint over the mountains and lakes of Killarney National Park. This was a favourite spot of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, who visited Killarney in 1861.
• Kenmare - Kenmare town (Ceann Mara, meaning head of the sea), formerly known as Neidin, meaning little nest. In the 16th and 17th centuries, it was a town of pirates and smugglers. This charming town was designed by Sir Oliver William Petty, who was granted the area as part of payment for mapping Ireland. He laid out a modern town in 1670. Today, Kenmare is visited by many people for its beauty.
• Coomakista, stop 637611 - Coomakista sits at the tip of the Iveragh Peninsula, offering a stunning view over Kenmare Bay (Derrynane Bay) and the islands of Scariff and Deenish, which locals call the bull, the cow, and the calf. There is also Abbey Island, with the ruins of an abbey and a graveyard, accessible only at low tide. On the other side, visitors can see Ballinskellig Bay and the town of Waterville, where Charlie Chaplin used to spend his summer holidays.
• Kerry Cliffs - The highest cliffs in County Kerry, higher than the Cliffs of Moher yet far less well known. This place is a real hidden gem of south Kerry. Rising up to 1,000 feet above sea level, they offer stunning views. In good weather, the Skellig Islands can be seen. Skellig Michael is an island with mysterious beehive huts occupied by monks from the 5th century and possibly by Celtic Druids before them. The second island is called Little Skellig, a sanctuary for wild birds, with over 40,000 nests, mostly of puffins and gannets.
• Ballycarbery Castle - Beautiful and charming ruins of the Carbery O’Shea castle from 1598. It was destroyed by parliamentary forces in 1651-52.
• Cahergall Fort - A 5th to 6th century stone fort, built with only balanced stone and no mortar. A very impressive ancient construction with high attention to detail.
• Valentia Island Car Ferry - A short trip across the water, sometimes accompanied by dolphins, from Knightstown to Cahersiveen.
• Kerry Bog Village Museum - An 18th and 19th century village museum, a good place to understand how people lived in the past. Kerry Bog Village commemorates the great potato famine of the mid-19th century. Traditional thatched roof cottages and the smell of burning peat will transport visitors back to the 19th century.
