Fantastic Tour - What an amazing experience! Silly us didn't realise that you either had to go with the horses or a 7 mile walk to get to the pick up point (didn't see that in the fine print) so, we went with the Jaunting Cart and it ended up being the favourite part of our day! Thank you all for sharing such a wonderful experience with us.

True Magic - Be prepared for rain and get to know your jaunty cart mates well. The experience is stunning and you will pinch yourself every moment. Bring cash.

Dan and Sam - the best way to see The Gap of Dunloe! - Hands down THE BEST experience on our two week trip to Ireland! Dan, our driver, was full of local knowledge and even shared with us news of a local ram sale which we stopped in at on our way back to Dingle. A fantastic experience was had by all! We’d highly recommend this adventure to anyone! Thanks Dan and Sam for a very pleasant trip through The Gap of Dunloe!

Well worth the price! - We were picked up at our accommodation and driven to Kate Kearneys cottage. Then we paid the cartman, Donal, to take us to Lord Brandons cottage. It was soooo breathtaking. Donal was a man of few words, but he took care—made sure we got some photos in the cart for us. When it was very steep—we got out to walk for the horse, but he let my Mom ride. Then we got delicious sandwiches and Irish coffees at the cottage (bring cash!!). There was a bit of shuffling about with the boats—but our guide was great. He shared a lot about each lake, the various points of interest. We were dropped off at Ross Castle and shuttled back to our hotel. I would do it again!

Fantastic experience - The whole experience was fantastic! Highly recommend. Very easy to work with, great pace, amazing views, very friendly staff all around that were flexible with our wants/needs. For example, we only wanted to do the jaunting cart for 1/2 of the trip and walk the rest so they only charged us half price. Also, we were a bit late arriving to the boat but they graciously waited a few minutes for us! So kind, so lovely.

Beautiful views! - Beautiful scenery. Thoroughly enjoyed boat ride across the lake - great commentary from boat captain. Wouldn't do the 90-minute jaunting cart again - seemed very stressful for the horse. At one point all cart riders (3 guests & 1 driver) had to get out & walk to reduce weight. There was bus driver confusion about actual departure & arrival times. Noted some overall disorganization with tour providers but absolutely enjoyed all the beauty & peacefulness of the area.

Customer safety concern - The tour operator was very nice and has said they gave us a discount. I have not had an opportunity to confirm.
We were really looking forward to this tour. Mother Nature interfered with constant rain and a wind warning. We asked the operator if it was still on. They said yes and that the boat and jaunting carts had covers. The cover on the boat was a red tarp to go on our laps. All 7 passengers assumed there was an actual overhead cover.
Our tour was cut short. We went up the lake and River and then found out the gap was closed due severe flooding. We had to take the boat back across the swiftly rising river and lake.

Should you go out on a boat with a “yellow” rain alert - The day had a “yellow” rain alert with a possible two inches of rain. The boat tour was not cancelled and was not a covered vehicle like we expected. The boat went out on the Gap of Dunloe and the operator was really good at keeping us safe and highlighting the area.
Because of increasing rain, the lakes were rising and some of the roads were washed over. As a result, the jaunting carts were cancelled and we were returned to the starting point. The tour was cut short and we were very wet.

The Gap of Dunloe was... - The Gap of Dunloe was absolutely breathtaking and the jaunting cart was exceptional. Both our jaunting cart driver and boat captain were wonderful. However, our start was very bad. The bus driver snapped that he did not care if we had the appropriate paperwork, yelled to everyone that we needed to leave 15 minutes early and, when a fellow passenger said "we have 15 minutes before the tour starts," he screamed at her to "get off his bus." He drove like a maniac and was angry the entire time. He ended up dropping us off to the first stop an hour early and he left. The boat captain wasn't permitted to take us until the appropriate time, so everyone waited. Meanwhile, it was discovered that our family had been directed by them to the wrong place. We had to be taken back to the start of the tour with the angry, crazy driver. He picked up multiple other people while driving us back so we spent the first hour being shuttled around in the van. It was horrible. When I spoke to the company about our experience, they just said that they did not have their usual staff that day. It was a terrible shame this happened because the jaunting cart and boat ride where just incredible experiences.

Beautiful views of Killarney - The bus, the jaunting car, and the boat were all very enjoyable. Beautiful views, quite an amazing experience. However, getting a jaunting car was a bit of a fiasco. We had a group of 10 and had to pay for 3 full carts, although we saw plenty of carts leaving with 5 people in them. (We had 4 kids under the age of 12, so it’s not like we had 10 adults and no one overweight in the group). And then we were all split up by how they wanted to split us. I didn’t get to ride with my own children and a husband and wife couple were split up. Very bizarre to me that we couldn’t even pick the way we got split up. When we arrived at Ross Castle on the boat; we were immediately loaded onto the bus to head back, without getting an opportunity at all to actually see the castle. A bit disappointing. It was a nice view from the water and I would have liked to have been able to walk over to it.
