• Galway Cookery Classes - Participants will have the opportunity to bake a variety of delicious treats, such as lavender, raisin, and berry scones (depending on the season), as well as spelt or brown bread.

The classes emphasize a hands-on approach, allowing guests to engage in every step of the process, from handling ingredients to kneading dough.

Beyond just cooking, the instructor shares numerous tips and insights gained from years of experience.

Witnessing the excitement and joy on participants’ faces when they see their freshly baked scones and bread is truly rewarding.

Most importantly, the classes are filled with fun and enjoyment.

For those traveling from Galway city to Kilcolgan village, take the first left after O’Donoghues Bar. After a few kilometers, you’ll reach a T junction; turn left, then take the first right after crossing the bridge. The instructor’s house is the last one in the estate, distinguished by a purple door.

The daytime activities take place in my charming and comfortable home in Kilcolgan.

I also conduct some of these experiences at my café, Kate’s Place, situated at Orantown center in Oranmore.

In my residence, guests can savor the homey atmosphere of my Irish kitchen.

In each experience, we take time to discuss how the process of bread-baking has evolved over the years.

Guests are also encouraged to use the fruits and herbs from my garden, where we take advantage of seasonal produce wherever possible.
