Kibeho - Following mass and an early breakfast, depart for Kibeho. On the way, visit the museum at the Royal Court of Nyanza, the former seat of the ancient Kingdom of Rwanda before European arrival. The Royal Court was a hub of cultural and artistic activity, with poets, singers, and dancers enlivening royal evenings. During the day, it attracted merchants, herders, and artisans. The impressive royal palace of Nyanza, a large dome constructed entirely with traditional materials, has been meticulously restored to its 19th-century state and transformed into a museum.

Ruhengeri - Morning Mass. After breakfast, visit Ruhengeri Cathedral for meditation and prayer at the shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. In Fatima, the Virgin Mary appeared as a Mother, seen by the children as a humble and extraordinarily beautiful woman. As a Mother, she is the protector of her children. Since its establishment in 1954, the parish of Ruhengeri has been dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima. When the shrine of Our Lady of Fatima (Ruhengeri) was inaugurated in 2001, the entire diocese was consecrated to the same Mother. On May 13, 2015, during his pilgrimage to Fatima, the bishop of the diocese of Ruhengeri renewed the act of dedication of the diocese to Our Lady of Fatima.
Lunch in the city of Ruhengeri
After lunch, explore the volcano region and the “Iby’iwacu cultural village,” enjoying Rwandan folk dances. This is a deeply moving experience of Rwandan tradition, culture, and customs.
Then, return to Kigali.
