ARRIVAL IN RWANDA, KNOWN AS THE “LAND OF A THOUSAND HILLS”
Kigali - Welcome to the enchanting Rwanda, where every part of this safari destination is as magical and awe-inspiring as you have imagined. Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, an orientation will be conducted before transferring to the hotel. You will stay in a historic hotel that played a significant role in protecting hundreds of innocent lives during the genocide. For more information, you can watch the movie “Hotel Rwanda.” The hotel’s name was changed to De Millie Collins Hotel.
KIGALI CITY TOUR (KIGALI GENOCIDE MEMORIAL) AND TRANSFER TO BWINDI NATIONAL PARK
Kigali Genocide Memorial - After breakfast, check out of your hotel and embark on a city tour in Kigali, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial (a world heritage site). Here, you will learn about the Rwanda genocide, “THE CASE THAT WILL NEVER BE ERASED.” The tour lasts about 2 hours. Afterwards, visit nearby craft shops. At 10 AM, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to Uganda’s Gorillas. The drive from Kigali city to the Uganda-Rwanda border takes about 2 hours. Bwindi is one of the most stunning places on Earth, offering unforgettable experiences with its lush forests and rugged terrains. The drive from the border to Bwindi is approximately 3 hours on a dirt road, ascending to about 2500 meters above sea level. Check into your hotel, refresh, have dinner, and relax for the night.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - The drive to the Gorilla park includes traversing this incredible forest.
TREKKING THE MARVELOUS MOUNTAIN GORILLAS IN THE BWINDI FOREST
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After a restful night and a hearty breakfast, the endangered mountain gorillas await you in the jungles. Attend the mandatory briefing and entertainment at the park Headquarters and information center, then venture into the jungles with a professional armed Ranger guide to find the giant apes after 1-2 hours of careful walking. The face-to-face encounter with these creatures is a must-do during a Uganda safari, and your trip will make this ambition achievable.
After enjoying lunch and resting, take a 1-2 hour community walk to learn about the unique cultures and traditions. During the walk, you will also experience a coffee tour. Return to the Lodge with fresh memories from the gorilla trek and community tour.
NB: A community walk will be arranged after the trek, depending on energy levels.
TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK VIA ISHASHA SECTOR.
Queen Elizabeth National Park - On this day, bid farewell to Bwindi National Park and take a 3-hour drive into the vast savannahs of Queen Elizabeth National Park, dotted with acacia and cactus trees, ideal for spotting tree-climbing lions. Depart Bwindi with a packed lunch for a picnic amidst the lush plains of Ishasha.
Spot the big 5 here, and take time to drive through the savannah to see more game species; track the tree-climbing lions of Ishasha before heading to your hotel. Leave the Ishasha sector by 3 pm and arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
EXPLORE QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – FULL DAY WILDLIFE VIEWING.
Queen Elizabeth National Park - A guided game drive and a boat cruise are the best ways to discover the beauty of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The day begins with breakfast and orientation at the Lodge, followed by a full-blast game drive in hopes of seeing several cats, spotted hyenas, lions, Defassa waterbucks, leopards, Oribis, warthogs, mongooses, Hippos, Cape buffaloes, duikers, Uganda Kobs, African savanna elephants, and more. The activity lasts about 3-4 hours before returning to the Lodge for lunch. Visit salt mining sites within the park before exiting.
After lunch, return to the park for the evening game drive.
At 7 pm, drive back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
TRANSFER TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK
Kibale National Park - Wake up at leisure, have breakfast, and check out of your hotel. Enjoy a gentle drive towards Kibale National Park, “the home of Great Chimps.” Stop by the Equator for a photo shoot, then proceed to Kasese town. Enjoy the scenic views of Fort Portal and the Kalinju forests mingled with bright-colored tea plantations. Arrive at your hotel for lunch. Refresh and rest.
TREKKING THE ENDANGERED CHIMPANZEES IN KIBALE FOREST
Kibale National Park - Kibale Forest National Park is often ranked as one of Africa’s best places to trek for endangered chimpanzees. On this day, with a packed lunch, join other travelers in searching for these Great Apes in their natural habitat, starting at 8:00 am after a briefing and lasting 1-4 hours. It’s not just about chimpanzees; other animals, birds, butterflies, and tree species will be spotted along the way. After all the patience, commitment, and hard work, the chimpanzee troop will be found, and you will have one hour to observe and take photos. Sometimes the trek takes less than 4 hours.
After tracking, return to your lodge for lunch and rest.
TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Murchison Falls National Park - Depart Kibale National Park and head to the majestic Murchison Falls National Park. Embark on another exciting destination for the 22-day East Africa Safari. The journey to Murchison Falls National Park is a bit long (about 5-6 hours), so leave early, but expect lots of en-route countryside scenery, huge plantations, and various landscapes. Settle for lunch in Hoima Oil City and proceed to the Nile Valley, enjoying the endless natural beauty en route to your lodging in the late afternoon. Check in, and later head out for a brief evening game drive. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
FULL DAY MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Murchison Falls National Park - This day is dedicated to exploring the diversity of Murchison Falls National Park, starting with an early morning or packed breakfast at the Lodge. Drive through its savannah plains dotted with acacia and riverbanks where hartebeests, lions, Cape buffaloes, warthogs, Hippos, leopards, Oribis, spotted hyenas, Olive baboons, African bush elephants, kudus, Vervet monkeys, bushbucks, Defassa waterbucks, and Uganda Kobs are frequently spotted. Visit the top of the world’s strongest waterfalls on this day.
A delicious and hot lunch will be served at your Safari Lodge.
In the afternoon, indulge in a rewarding private boat ride down the scenic Victoria Nile, spending 3 hours exploring the banks for Hippos, Nile crocodiles, African bush elephants, and Cape buffaloes, as well as birds. After the boat cruise, return to the park for an evening game drive before heading back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK – KAMPALA
Rhino Fund Uganda - Depart the majestic Murchison Falls National Park and continue to another exciting destination for the 22-day East Africa Safari. The journey to Jinja is a bit long (about 7 hours), so leave early morning, but expect lots of en-route countryside scenery. Settle for lunch at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (Rhino Fund Uganda) after 2 hours of rhino tracking, then proceed through Kampala City to Jinja City.
TRANSFER TO MASAI MARA VIA JINJA AT THE SOURCE OF THE NILE WITH AN OVERNIGHT STAY IN KISI TOWN.
Source Of River Nile Jinja - After breakfast, head out for the Nile excursion at 8 am, spending 1 hour exploring the source of the world’s longest River Nile in Jinja town. Then proceed to another African border crossing experience at the Busia border post for Kenya and Uganda. Continue to the Kenyan side, having a late lunch in Kisumu City. It will be a maximum of 7-8 hours’ drive to reach your Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Spend the night in Kisi town due to potential border crossing delays. Busia is Africa’s busiest border, serving as Africa’s gateway to the seaport of Mombasa, linking Africa to Asia and Australia.
GAME DRIVE IN MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE.
Masai Mara National Reserve - On the 12th day of your 22-day Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Holiday, have an early breakfast and transfer to the park for a game drive. The transfer from Kisi town to the Masai Mara takes approximately 3 hours. Check into your lodge, have lunch, and refresh. Rest before heading out for the evening community walk. After lunch and a bit of rest, embark on an evening game drive/walk exploring the park, looking for animals such as giraffes, gazelles, cape buffaloes, African wild dogs, zebras, and lions, among others. Around 7 pm, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
GAME DRIVE IN MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE.
Mara Triangle - This day is dedicated to exploring the wonders of the mighty Masai Mara. Spend the entire day on a game drive with a picnic lunch at the MARA RIVER MIGRATION BRIDGE. Experience a day in Africa’s finest jungle, interacting with nature. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay. Relax and prepare for an early morning game drive as you exit Kenya.
MASAI MARA TO SERENGETI VIA ISHEBANIA BORDER POST.
Masai Mara National Reserve - Have an early morning breakfast, meet your guide, and depart from Masai Mara National Reserve to Serengeti through Ishebania, Kenya, Tanzania border post, with a warm welcome to the unforgettable land of Tanzania. A short briefing will be provided before proceeding to the destination. After four to five hours of en-route game drive, expect to see some welcoming animals as you cruise through Serengeti National Park.
After a late lunch, rest and enjoy the environment and view of the wide plains of Serengeti and some resident animals around.
After dinner, receive a briefing about your hot air balloon safari from our crew, then enjoy a warm sleep with the natural choruses of different singers from insects, with some animals such as hyenas laughing, and early morning rhythmic birds.
SERENGETI GAME DRIVE
Serengeti National Park - Depart very early in the morning for a hot air balloon safari in Serengeti, offering a spectacular view of the Serengeti from above. After breakfast and celebrating your certificate from the balloon crew, embark on a game drive, providing a great chance to spot and see animals up close.
A bush lunch will enhance your visit with the great surroundings, cool bush breeze, and therapeutic sensory-stimulating scents of nature.
The second half of the day will begin, and the deep plains of Serengeti will offer a better chance of spotting most animals, especially the cat family.
After viewing amazing animals, proceed to the southern part of Serengeti, where volcanic ash is believed to have been deposited, attracting wild beasts due to its calcium richness for new babies. Drive through the wide open plains to your lodge.
GAME DRIVE IN NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Depart as early as possible for an early game drive and en route to Ngorongoro Crater. After a delightful breakfast at the base of Caldera, proceed to one of Africa’s most visited sites. The magical land is reserved and offers everything nature can provide, with a high chance of seeing the big five. The Ngorongoro conservation area.
After lunch, leave via the crater walls with an amazing view of the caldera.
VISIT LAKE EYASI FOR LOCAL FISHING AND HUNTING EXPERIENCE
TRANSFER TO ZANZIBAR.
ZANZIBAR EXCURSION
Stone Town - On the 19th day of your 22-day Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Holiday, wake up at your leisure, have breakfast, then head out for a 5-hour kayaking session through the mangrove tunnel. This will occur in Jozani forest, through the Uzi island village tour, the marine park tour, and from there enjoy a seafood lunch. After lunch, head to Stone Town to experience the history and culture of Zanzibar. Visit the Darajani Market to meet and interact with the locals. Afterwards, en route through the spice farm as you return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

RELAX AT THE BEACH & TRANSFER TO THE MAINLAND
Zanzibar City - Have breakfast, relax at the beach, and prepare for the transfer to the harbor for the return ferry. Have lunch at 12:00 noon and transfer to the harbor at 1 pm. Embark on a one-and-a-half-hour cruise to the mainland. Check into your hotel at 7 pm, have dinner while winding up the 22-day safari.
TRANSFER TO JULIUS NYERERE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Dar es Salaam - Early in the morning, after breakfast, check out of the hotel and embark on a 20-minute drive to the airport. The guide will escort you to Julius Nyerere International Airport for your return flight.
