Respectful - It's hard to know how ethical an Elephant sanctuary is. As amazing as it is to see elephants and other wild animals, I'd like to be confident that the animals are treated well. Elephants eat a lot so keeping them is an expensive business. For a place like this, they need a lot of tourist footfall to pay the bills. These elephants are also bought out of their unfortunate existence and they were all pretty long in the tusk. So I still have questions about unintended consequences but I can only comment on what I saw there. As far as the excursion goes, we were picked up from the hotel and taken directly to the sanctuary. Because it was a short trip we didn't get a sense of how extensive the site was, the area we were in appeared limited but an elephant passed by that had just been bathing at another part of the site. Our guide, and others we saw, spoke good English, and were knowledgeable about the elephants and the sanctuary. The elephants were treated respectfully and we were instructed in how to interact with them to feed them. The most telling part for me was when the elephant we were walking with decided that the grass was greener on another bit of land and headed off. The mahoot managed to encourage the elephant back into the reserve without poking it with a stick. Watching the elephants doing their thing was good. It is sad to hear how these elephants have been used for logging, rides, circuses etc. and to know that that is still going on all over Thailand.

A wonderful experience! - We were given a clear explanation of what would happen on this tour in a kind and respectful way. It was a calm, peaceful and amazing experience which was centred on how the elephants are cared for. It was wonderful to see each of the eight elephants with their carers who have a very special bond with them. These elephants cannot live in the wild but are free to roam! Aom, one of our guides gave us clear, information about how the elephants are cared for and how the funds are spent looking after these wonderful animals. We made a protein ball for the elephants and could feed them this alongside bananas and sugar cane. Photos of us with the elephants were given as well as a key ring and a herbal vapor pot which we helped make. We really could have wished for a better time and were so impressed with everyone there. Thank you.

Incredible - one of the highlights of userer journey - Incredibly beautiful. Such a diverse experience that we had a lot of fun and moved us. It was great to spend so much time with the elephants - feeding them, watching them bathe, helping cum, or preparing the "medicine bananas". We were superbly looked after and felt very comfortable. Thanks to our guide and the team. The cream program - like lunch, the waterfall or finding food for the elephants - was perfect for us. We learned a lot and the tour was a highlight of our Tailand trip. We are so happy to have booked this longer tour. Highly recommended.

Wonderful to see and interact with these beautiful animals - Wonderful visit. Love that you are not riding the elephants but can interact such as feeding and washing. We also stayed for lunch which was absolutely delicious. We got picked up from hotel too. Great value

Lovely day out with amazing elephants - What a wonderful day out at a place where elephant welfare is the priority. Our guide Win was very friendly and really knowledgeable. We were introduced to the beautiful elephants and then took one of them, Som Boon, for a walk in the forest. Next week went to see a beautiful waterfall, tsunami museum and turtle sanctuary, before lunch in a beautiful restaurant. We had an amazing day and can't recommend this place highly enough. Better to give our money to a place that puts the elephants first.

Elephant Adventures - An excellent and educational experience. Win was a fantastic guide and teacher who made sure I felt comfortable and safe in my interactions with the elephants and had plenty of things for me to do during my time at the sanctuary. We fed the elephants, watched one take a bath and then walked with them then I was able to help Win cut down banana plants for the elephants, go to a waterfall and even make the equivalent of an elephant energy ball. The tour ended with a cooking class where I made Pad Thai topping off a memorable day. Highly recommended for solo travellers like myself!

Truly ethical in every sense of the word! - Please support this great place - Truly ethical in every sense of the word! From the moment we arrived and every step of the way through out the morning, we had a great experience up close and personal with the elephants. We were a group of 2 adults, 1 13 y.o. & a 5 1/2 y.o. and opted for the 2hr guided experience which included elephant feeding, a jungle walk with one of the elephants through the runner estate around the attraction and finally, making “vitamin balls” (a mixture of fruits, tamarind paste & sticky rice) for the elephants. They really take good care of the elephants and the Mahouts (handlers) for each elephant as well as our private guide were on hand at all times to ensure that we interacted with the elephants in the proper way without causing them any undue stress, etc. Definitely well worth a visit and all the more so because they truly are an ethical operation. 5-stars!

A great experience for a family, of ANY age - A thoroughly great experience - we didn't join from a formal tour, we just rode there on hired mopeds and walked straight in. Lovely staff, 6 beautiful well treated elephants, we fed them and got to wash them down, they seemed happy and were really up close and personal. It felt like a nice family business and was a great experience we would thoroughly recommend.
