• 02 - Begin your journey with a pickup from your hotel in Ras Al Khaimah by a comfortable, air-conditioned bus, heading towards Khasab, a charming port city on the northern coast of Oman’s Musandam Peninsula. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Hajar Mountains and coastline as you travel to the port of Khasab.

Upon crossing the border into Oman, arrive in Khasab where your traditional Omani double-decker dhow awaits. The friendly crew will welcome you aboard the beautifully crafted wooden boat.

Set sail into the stunning, serene fjord, Khor Ash Shimm, the longest fjord in the Musandam Peninsula. As you cruise, take in the sights of coastal villages and keep an eye out for playful dolphins and other exotic marine life. The journey includes a stop at the renowned Telegraph Island, a historic site established in 1864 by the British as a telegraph repeater station connecting Bombay (India) to mainland Britain via an underwater and overland cable through Basra in Iraq and Turkey.

The Musandam region, separated from the rest of Oman by the United Arab Emirates, is the northernmost part of the Sultanate. The dramatic Musandam peninsula is perhaps one of the most scenically spectacular areas in the Gulf. These stunning fjords have earned the area the nickname “The Norway of Arabia.” The peninsula is primarily inhabited by the Shihuh, who are fishermen and herdsmen likely descended from the original inhabitants of northern Oman. Fishing is the peninsula’s main industry, with packing plants located in al-Khasab and Bay’ah. Transportation is mostly by sea, as no roads traverse the challenging terrain. Musandam - Khasab is very close to the United Arab Emirates and easily accessible by road for visitors from the UAE.
