Totem Poles, dance and story! - Valerie was knowledgeable, considerate for those who needed extra help. Full of information. The carvers for the pole were fun. Lunch had beer or wine and some tasty Reindeer sausage’s.

Tour- Friendly Staff but Horribly Disorganized - They were unable to keep track of their travelers. After the lumberjack show, a young lady with a clip board did not maintain SA of the group and lost half as she bolted back to the bus. Then we spent 10 mins trying to find the rest of the people that got left behind

Great Experience - The Lumberjack show was educational and highly entertaining. The culinary lunch was excellent and we enjoyed a variety of authentic Alaskan foods. There was plenty to eat with local soda, wine, or beer flights to try. The cultural artifacts and video was extremely interesting

Highlights with patience - A little confusing on meeting and where to go and did not realize we would be with a big bus that was full but was ok though) no narrative information from port to parking from guide, most drivers talk to you about the area. lumberjack portion good, also confusing going back ( no guide with us that part) culture center lunch was rushed. I don't believe anyone had time to finish. I'm sure a work in process. Might have been an off day.

Interesting day in Ketchikan - Enjoyed the lumberjack show and quick service to the village. The local food and drinks were nice, as well as the art and history. We would have liked to have a quick opportunity to see the totems that we learned about. One drawback is that our tour guide was new (I'm assuming) and didn't know the flow or any of the talking points and we had to join up with another group.

Good food, not very organized, mixing ship groups not a good idea, rushed in eating our food, just could have been done - There should have been Alaska Natives doing this tour. There are plenty of them who would like to correctly inform no -Natives of our culture. The person greeting us was wonderful and very knowledgeable but employee a local who own these histories.

Cultural experience was poorly executed for the cost - Worse tour ever.because of the cultural portion. Tour driver was nice and tried hard but he had minimal experience and the cultural center was disappointing. The Cultural center is in poor shape. Couldn’t understand or hear the young man responsible for explaining the movie or the food offerings. Food was unexpectedly poor surprise it was a tour offering on our cruise ship. Expected to hear from an Indigenous community member not a video, saw totem poles ad a drive by and they were within walking distance. Never offered. Should you consider the lumberjack show just do that it was fun and high energy

Consider what you want from the tour - My review is mixed here. 1. The lumberjack show was awesome. I would recommend. 2. The Saxman Village was a disappointing. We never went to the Totem pole area. Which for me was more important than the Culinary experience. It was even more disappointing when we drove past it. We were only a block and a half away.

BEWARE CAPE FOX EXCURSIONS COMPANY - This rating is more about the travel company, Cape Fox and not about the cultural culinary experience and the lumberjack show that they represent. After paying for my husband and I to go on both for almost $300, we were left behind to find our own way to Ketchikan on and sent on the wrong shuttle and were told to call once we got there. We did and were told to find our own way to the lumberjack show and they would “make things right” after it was over by Alicia. She gave us her cellphone number and said call or text anytime. We have done both and emailed MULTIPLE times and to date NO ONE has contacted us. NO ONE has made it right and our once in a lifetime experience of Ketchikan has been permanently marred by this and our inability to experience this beautiful location and people. And we are out at least $150. BEWARE OF THIS EXCURSION!! Others seem to have similar problems with lack of coordination, etc… We did see the lumberjack show which was phenomenal just don’t use this company to try to see it.
