• Tongass National Forest - After over a decade of leading kayak tours in Ketchikan, it remains surprising how many visitors miss the opportunity to explore the Rain Forest. The E-Bike tour was created to encourage more visitors to experience this incredible rain forest. With nearly 200 inches of rain each year, Southeast Alaska is unparalleled in its lushness and uniqueness. The forest floor is teeming with diverse flora and fauna, and depending on the season, it’s common to spot deer or salmon swimming upstream.

Given the limited port times for most visitors, the aim was to optimize your time by combining various activities in this tour. Additionally, the goal was to offer more than just a hiking tour. Thus, the journey to the trailhead is an adventure in itself. The ocean views along the hike and from the scenic marina are a delightful bonus! It’s not unusual to see porpoises, seals, sea lions, or occasionally humpbacks or orcas from the beach.

• Ketchikan Kayak Company - Electric assist bicycles function like regular bicycles. You pedal and shift gears just like any other bike. They operate quietly and are not considered motorized vehicles. These bikes offer multiple levels of pedal assist, allowing you to decide how much exercise you want. Pedaling is essential.
  E-bikes enable covering more distance than traditional bicycles, eliminating the worry of keeping up, and they provide the perfect amount of exercise desired. They are user-friendly with a step-through frame, making it easy to get on and off without having to swing a leg over. Our e-bikes are recharged using hydro power, making them an eco-friendly source of enjoyment. Our tours typically accommodate up to 10 people, ensuring no one gets lost in the crowd.

As the pioneering electric bicycle tour in Southeast Alaska, we are thrilled to invite you on a delightful and leisurely ride along the “road to nowhere.” This path concludes at the edge of the lush Tongass National Forest, a vast wilderness where you will embark on an enjoyable, guided, educational hike along a well-maintained trail next to an active salmon spawning stream. The hike features a picturesque waterfall along the route, as well as breathtaking beach views with opportunities to spot intertidal creatures, black bears, and marine mammals along the coast. The dense rainforest is the highlight of the loop trail through the Tongass and is constantly evolving throughout the season. After relishing your guided hike, you’ll return to your e-bikes to cycle back to our marina for smoked salmon snacks, with vegan options and beverages available. All our tours include round-trip transportation from both the Downtown Cruise docks and the New Dock at Ward Cove. Excellent rain gear is provided if needed.
