Lhasa - The journey to Lhasa will include crossing two passes, Karo La Pass (5010m) and Kamba La Pass (4794m). Travelers will also enjoy views of the stunning Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake) and the Brahmaputra River, along with breathtaking scenery en route to Lhasa. After reaching Kamba La Pass, the descent towards the main road will lead to Lhasa.
Sightseeing in Lhasa (3,600m)
Lhasa - A guided sightseeing tour will commence after breakfast. The first stop will be Potala Palace, the winter residence of the Dalai Lama, offering a panoramic view of Lhasa town. Next, the tour will visit Norbulingka Palace, the Dalai Lama’s summer residence, located a short distance southwest of Potala Palace. The Tibet Museum, situated directly below Potala Palace, will be the final stop, providing insights into Tibet’s history.
Sightseeing in Lhasa (3,600m)
Lhasa - On the second day of sightseeing in Lhasa, the group will visit Drepung Monastery, established in the 14th century and once home to 10,000 monks, making it the world’s largest monastery. Following this, the tour will proceed to the beautiful Sera Monastery, known for its whitewashed walls and golden roofs, where visitors can observe monks debating. Later, the group will explore Jokhang Temple, a significant site revealing many aspects of Tibetan Buddhism. The day will conclude with a visit to Barkhor Bazaar, bustling with open stalls, shops, and pilgrims.
Lhasa to Kathmandu or Mainland China.
Lhasa - After breakfast, the group will check out of the hotel and drive to their next destination, either Kathmandu or Mainland China. The drive promises to be scenic once again.
