Witness the unforgettable sight of dust-red elephants as they wallow, roll, and spray each other with the deep blue waters of the palm-shaded Galana River. This scene is one of Africa’s most captivating images. Alongside this, the 300-kilometer-long Yatta Plateau, the world’s longest lava flow, offers a unique adventure in Tsavo East. As Kenya’s largest protected area, the park is home to a wide range of large mammals, including vast herds of dust-red elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, lions, leopards, pods of hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, lesser kudu, gerenuk, and an abundant birdlife with 500 recorded species.
