After a 4-hour drive, there is a stop in Mtito Andei for a bathroom break and refueling. The journey continues for another hour to Voi town, where the route branches onto the Taita/Taveta road. On both sides, travelers can see Tsavo West National Park before arriving at Taita Hills Resort and Spa for lunch. A variety of delicious dishes are served in the main dining area, which boasts a wonderful ambiance. After lunch, guests proceed to the renowned Saltlick Safari Lodge, check in, and then embark on a game viewing drive. The day concludes with a delightful buffet dinner at the lodge, offering a breathtaking view of the floodlit waterhole, providing a close-up view of the animals, and a perfect time to relax.

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary - The day begins with an early morning game drive from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., exploring the expansive Taita Hills Game Sanctuary. This private sanctuary is conveniently located next to Tsavo West, making it easily accessible. The park’s landscape is more lush than Tsavo, and the game viewing is equally impressive. While the sanctuary offers excellent bird watching, its main attraction is the larger animals, which the rangers are adept at locating. It’s not uncommon for safari-goers to spot over a dozen species during a game drive. In the morning, the big cats are particularly active, increasing the chances of sightings. At 9 a.m., guests return to the lodge for breakfast and then depart the park, with a drop-off at the hotel or airport. End of Tour.
