Journey from Nairobi to Lake Bogoria

Lake Bogoria - Guests will be collected from their hotel or residence in Nairobi at 06:00 to begin the journey to Lake Bogoria for a birdwatching experience. There will be a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to observe the impact of ancient volcanic activities. The trip continues to Lake Bogoria for a birdwatching safari. Rift Valley Province - The Great Rift Valley is a series of connected geographic trenches, stretching approximately 6,000 kilometers (3,700 miles) from the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon, Asia, to Mozambique in Southeast Africa. Although the name is still used in some contexts, it is seldom used in geology due to its imprecise combination of distinct yet related rift and fault systems.

Marigat - This town is on the route to Bogoria, where there is a stopover at the equator crossing point.

Equator Sign - The journey passes through a town called Mogotio, where a large sign indicates the crossing of the equator. Local residents are pleased to offer an equator crossing certificate for a small additional fee.

Lake Nakuru Game Drive and Return to Nairobi

Lake Nakuru National Park - After breakfast, guests will embark on a 3-hour game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. There is an opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, such as rhinos, buffaloes, antelopes, and waterbucks, and with some luck, lions as well. Following the game drive, lunch will be served at Lake Nakuru Lodge before starting the return journey to Nairobi, arriving in the evening.

Makalia Waterfalls - This waterfall is located within Lake Nakuru National Park and is an integral part of the ecosystem there.

Lake Naivasha - On the return trip to Nairobi, there is an option to stop at Lake Naivasha for a 1-hour boat ride to view hippos and enjoy birdwatching on the lake.

This is an exclusive excursion, where you’ll have the chance to admire the stunning flamingos at Lake Bogoria and a variety of wildlife at Lake Nakuru, including endangered rhinos and Rothschild Giraffes. Lake Nakuru also offers excellent bird watching opportunities, with over 200 bird species. On your return to Nairobi, you may choose to stop at Lake Naivasha for more bird watching, as well as hippo spotting and eagle feeding.
