Departure from Nairobi and Afternoon Game Drive

Rift Valley Province - Guests will be collected from their hotel in the city center to begin their safari to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. This spot offers a stunning view of the scenic Rift Valley floor. The Rift Valley is a geographical expanse stretching 6000km across the Middle East and Africa, from Jordan to Mozambique. It showcases remarkable topographic diversity with its escarpments, volcanoes, lakes, ancient granitic hills, flat desert landscapes, and coral reefs and islets. The breathtaking view as one approaches from Nairobi, Kenya, is truly awe-inspiring.

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Upon arrival at the camp, guests will check in and then proceed for an afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. They will return to the camp for a delicious buffet dinner, followed by a restful night at Rhino Tourist Camp.

Full Day Game Drive in the Maasai Mara Reserve

Mara River - After breakfast, guests will embark on a full-day game drive (starting at 6:30 AM) in the Masai Mara National Reserve, the main attraction. They will explore diverse ecosystems such as the Talek River and Mara River, which are key crossing points for the Great Migration, home to crocodiles and hippos. Highlights include spotting the Big Five: lion prides, elephant herds, rhinos in protected areas, leopards in trees, and buffalo. Witness the dramatic wildebeest crossings (July-October) and over 500 bird species, including ostriches and lilac-breasted rollers. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush with views of the savannah. An optional early-morning hot air balloon safari (~5:00 AM, additional cost) offers aerial views of the Mara’s wildlife and plains. Return to camp by 6:00 PM for dinner and overnight stay, with time to unwind by a campfire.

Return to Nairobi

Mara River - After breakfast, enjoy a 3-hour morning game drive (6:00-9:00 AM) in the Masai Mara National Reserve to observe dawn-active animals like cheetahs and hyenas. Reinforce sightings of the Big Five or explore the Mara River for hippos and birdlife. An optional visit to a Maasai village (9:00-10:00 AM, additional cost) offers a cultural experience with mud huts (bomas), cattle enclosures, and demonstrations of adumu dances and beadwork. Depart the reserve by 10:00 AM for the 5-6 hour drive back to Nairobi, passing the Great Rift Valley Escarpment once more. Arrive in Nairobi by 2:00-3:00 PM for drop-off at the hotel or city center, concluding with cherished memories of the Mara’s wild beauty.
