Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Between 7:00 and 7:30 am, guests will be picked up from their hotel in Nairobi city center or Westlands and begin the journey to Maasai Mara. The drive includes a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, offering a stunning view of the Rift Valley floor. Visitors will have a 10-minute view of the semi-active Mt. Longonot and two dormant volcanic mountains, Mt. Suswa and Mt. Margaret. Arrival is in time for lunch, followed by hotel check-in. At 4:00 pm, guests will depart for a two-hour evening sunset game drive in the Mara Reserve, returning to the camp by 6:00 pm for a delicious buffet dinner and a restful night at the camp.

Full Day Game Drive

Maasai Mara National Reserve - An early breakfast at 6:30 am precedes a full day of game viewing. This day is crucial as it offers the chance to see the “Big Five,” especially the elusive big cats. The itinerary includes a visit to the famous Mara River, where the great migration occurs, and a guided tour by rangers to observe Nile crocodiles and hippo families. A picnic lunch under a tree in the park, overlooking the vast landscapes, completes the experience.

The Mara is renowned for hosting one of nature’s most spectacular events: the great migration. This annual migration involves millions of wildebeest and zebra moving from the Serengeti in Tanzania in search of water and pasture, followed by savanna predators such as lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.

Maasai Mara to Nakuru

Lake Nakuru National Park - After breakfast at the camp or lodge, guests will drive to Nakuru via Lake Naivasha, where they can enjoy an hour-long boat ride and lunch. There is an optional morning visit to a Maasai Village in Maasai Mara before departure, costing USD 20 per person (payable in cash at the village). Arrival in Nakuru is in the late evening.

Lake Nakuru National Park to Amboseli

Amboseli National Park - An early breakfast is followed by a 7:00 am departure to Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive. This small park is home to magnificent, rare white rhinos, part of the “Big Five.” The game drive lasts at least four hours, with opportunities to see pink flamingos and the rare endangered Rothschild giraffe.

Afterward, the journey continues to Amboseli National Park, with lunch en route at Naivasha Kifaru Travellers Motel. Arrival in Amboseli is in the evening, with no game drive due to the late arrival.

Full Day Game Drive in Amboseli

Amboseli National Park - After an early morning breakfast, guests will spend the entire day in the park with a packed lunch, searching for its famous residents, including well-known predators and their counterparts like zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos, all with a view of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Amboseli to Nairobi

Amboseli National Park - After breakfast, guests will check out and begin the drive back to Nairobi, where they will be dropped off at their hotel or the airport.
