Pick-up was punctual and... - Pick-up was punctual and seamless, only criticism was that it would have been nice to have been advised in advance who would be picking me up at 5:00AM, still dark. Was surprised and happy to see the same guide I had for a day trip to Lake Nakuru the week before. Peter is truly awesome and if you have the good fortune to have him as your guide, you will not be disappointed. While only the peak of Kilimanjaro was visible during our visit, Peter was in constant communication with other guides to ensure I saw everything that was happening during our time in the park. He is knowledgeable, friendly and an excellent driver. The ride back to Nairobi was an adventure as well!

Best safari ever! - This Is a second time I went to Amboseli with Rocks Tours. I decided to use Their offer In January due to good previous experience. Everything was organized top notch. Guide picked Us up from apartment and drove safely All the way. On the way he made short stops where Something interesting was nearby (animals, particularly nice kilimanjaro view etc.). In park we spend great time and guide was answering All of our numerous questions.😅😅😅 highly recommend the trip. If possible ask for Peter As your guide!

Long day but worth it - Very early pick up followed by a long drive with a breakfast stop before reaching Amboseli. We saw lots of birds and animals and the observation point gave a fantastic view of the park. Late lunch followed by the long drive back. Nairobi traffic terrible!!! Weary after a 14 hour day, but thanks to Francis for being our driver and guide

Day Safari not to be Missed - I was staying in Nairobi and booked this day trip. No regrets at all. It is a long day but well worth it if you are short of time. It is a 14 hour day and the roads are not for the feint hearted. Book a Jeep upgrade it is well worth it as there is a lot of corrugating on the tracks to and in the park. Big thank you to Joseph my driver he was first class very SAFE and very knowledgeable and friendly. Saw loads of animals up really close got some outstanding pictures.

Great trip! - Peter was an excellent guide: smart, engaging, full of good advice. He arrived on time, drove us to the park, and we managed to see all the animals on my list plus a bunch more! So many baby elephants 😍. Thank you!

Solo Safari at its best - An unforgettable African safari experience!”
My solo safari was nothing short of amazing! From start to finish, everything was well-organized and seamless. The landscapes were breathtaking, the wildlife sightings were incredible, and the entire trip felt like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
A special thank you to John, my guide, who was absolutely fantastic. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about what he does. His keen eye helped me spot animals I would have otherwise missed, and he shared fascinating facts about each one. I felt safe, well taken care of, and in great company.
Highly recommend this tour and especially John—he truly made my safari unforgettable!

Memorable day exploring the park - I had a wonderful day exploring the Amboseli National Park with Francis (a very good and careful driver - more on that later!).
Pick up was easy (from my hotel and exactly on time) and then you have the first part of the trip along the busy Nairobi - Mombasa highway. It is a relief to leave it (2.5-3 hrs) so that you no longer need to overtake the slow-moving lorries (part 1 of why having a good driver is critical). There’s a breakfast stop with delicious fried mahambri but, as I got a breakfast box from my hotel, I only got an (over-priced) tea from there). After that, you are fuelled up and ready for the bumpy roads to the park.
To enter the park, stop at the gates and then go inside to pay the fee. It’s easiest if you already have an e-citizen account but if not, Francis helped with that too. Note that there are a lot of Masai selling beaded bracelets, carvings etc.
We spent a glorious 4+ hours going all over the park, stopping when either Francis saw something or I wanted to stop. Francis could answer my questions of what things were / or behaviours we saw, and he was able to predict where the elephants would walk so we saw them from a safe (but close) distance as multiple families ambled by. While the big cats eluded us, we saw elephant, warthog, gazelle, wildebeest, buffalo, hippo, ostrich, zebra, giraffe, and more.
On the way to lunch, we came across a jeep that had rolled onto its side as the wheel had come off it (literally). No-one was hurt and it’s part 2 of why a good driver is essential - I learned from the passengers that their driver was speeding along the bumpy, potholed, roads. I felt safe while being taken around by Francis.
Lunch was back at the same breakfast place and they offered a buffet of various meat/veg options. I’m vegetarian and it was easy to find things to eat. Lunch was served with a lovely juice.
And then it’s back to the city. I would recommend trying to stay awake during the drive so you can see the towns and countryside you pass through.
Thank you Valley Rocks and Francis for a memorable day!

Worst trip ever. Surprised I survived the driving - Worst day out in my life! From the start it was a nightmare and then all the way through. Believe me you never want to go one this tour ever!
Highlights of good and bad-
1. Told me 5 am pick up then turned up at 6.30 am leaving me waiting in reception whole time.
2. Guide watched tiktok and spoke loudly to driver for entire day. Tiktok videos are now the background noise on all the videos I took of animals for the day.
3. The driver drove like a maniac on the roads constantly texting and driving, overtaking on blind corners and even nearly crashed into another game viewer at a sighting because he was texting.
4. The "included lunch" was served at 4 pm on the way home which meant no food at all from 5am to 4pm that day.
5. The 4x4 vehicle was not a 4x4 and actually a combi so most roads we had to reverse and couldn't do and their radio was broken so no help finding animals (part of the whole point of having a guide)
Pros
1. The driver was kind and nice and tried hard even tho his buddy in the passanger seat had absolutely no manners etc.
