Depart for Amboseli National Park, which is less than a 5-hour drive away, located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, enjoy a brief game drive before checking in at the camp for lunch. After settling into the hotel, embark on additional game drives in the afternoon. Mount Kilimanjaro provides a stunning backdrop for photography, and visitors can spot elephants, lions, cheetahs, and buffalo in the swamp areas. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.
Amboseli to Nairobi
Amboseli National Park - Start the day with an early morning game drive after breakfast, seeking out predators and grazers. The name “Amboseli” is derived from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust,” and it is renowned as one of Africa’s premier locations to observe large elephant herds up close. Nature enthusiasts can explore five distinct habitats, including the dry bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulfur springs, savannah, and woodlands. Continue the game drive until approximately 10:00 am. Then, exit the park and drive back to Nairobi, which takes less than 5 hours. Arrival in Nairobi is expected in the late afternoon, around 3 to 4 p.m., followed by a drop-off at the respective hotel or Airport.

In addition to the guaranteed elephant sightings, you’ll also see wildebeest and zebras, and you have a reasonable chance of spotting lions, cheetahs, and hyenas and in a rare dramatic show a kill. The park is also home to over 370 bird species, and it has an excellent array of lodges and an agreeably mild, dry climate.
