Nairobi to Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Maasai Mara National Reserve - At 8:00 a.m., guests will be picked up from their Nairobi hotel to begin the journey to Maasai Mara. The drive includes a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for 10-15 minutes to admire the stunning scenery. Lunch will be served at the camp in Maasai Mara. In the afternoon, after checking in, guests will embark on a sunset game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Masai Mara Reserve is Kenya’s most popular tourist destination, located in the Great Rift Valley’s open grasslands. Wildlife is most abundant on the reserve’s western escarpment, making it a jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas.

Mai Mahiu Road - A stop will be made at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint on Mai Mahiu Road, offering a breathtaking view of the rift valley floor. Formed 5 million years ago, the rift valley extends from the Red Sea through Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania. This active volcanic area features fascinating elements such as over eight lakes, dormant and active volcanic mountains, hot springs, and geysers like the Olkaria geothermal wells and Lake Bogoria geysers.

From this vantage point, visitors can see the volcanic Mt. Suswa and Mt. Longonot with their lush craters and the rolling green rift valley floor. The view is truly spectacular, so be sure to capture plenty of photos.

Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Around 7:00 a.m., after breakfast, guests will set out for a full day of exploration in Masai Mara, seeking the Big Five. A picnic lunch will be provided in the park at midday. Visitors will witness the annual wildebeest migration and observe resident crocodiles and hippos along the Mara River banks. The Mara hosts one of nature’s most spectacular events: the phenomenal seventh wonder of the world, where over 1.5 million animals migrate annually from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pastures. Following them are the savanna’s predators – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.

Mara River - The Mara River, located in Narok County (Kenya) and the Mara Region (Tanzania), lies across the migration path of ungulates in the Maasai Mara/Serengeti game reserves. This is where the wildebeest migration occurs, with many resident hippos and crocodiles.

Maasai Mara to Serengeti National Park Via Isebania Border

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, guests will drive to Serengeti National Park, passing through fertile farmland and the lush montane forests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Crater Highlands. After ascending and descending the rift escarpment, the afternoon will be spent game-viewing in the Serengeti. Known as the world’s best wildlife sanctuary, the Serengeti boasts the highest density of animals and is unmatched for its natural beauty, diversity, and scientific significance. Daily game drives reveal the ancient drama of life, death, and rebirth in this primeval wilderness.

Migration at Serengeti National Park - The great Serengeti wildebeest migration involves vast numbers of wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebra and smaller numbers of Grant’s gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle, eland, and impala. They follow an annual, fairly predictable pattern, migrating year-round in search of fresh grazing and, it is believed, better quality water.

Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, guests will enjoy a full day of morning and afternoon game drives to explore the plains. Serengeti is Tanzania’s most famous national park and the largest, covering 14,763 square kilometers of protected area bordering Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park. The park is renowned for the Migration, where over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras move south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May, and June. The ancient instinct to move is so strong that no drought, gorge, or crocodile-infested river can stop them. The wildebeest travel through various parks, reserves, and protected areas, experiencing diverse habitats. Serengeti Hippo Pool - This area in the Central Serengeti features permanent pools of water with numerous hippos. They reside here year-round and graze the nearby bushes at night.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - After an early breakfast, guests will proceed directly to the Crater floor for a full-day tour to explore the world’s largest inactive and intact volcanic caldera. Known as Africa’s Garden of Eden, it harbors a variety of wildlife and birdlife, showcasing its beauty. Lunch will be at a picnic site with packed lunch from the lodge.

Ngorongoro Crater - After an early breakfast, guests will depart with a packed lunch for a game drive. They will arrive and descend to the crater floor for a game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest unbroken caldera, covering an area of 260 kilometers and a depth of 610 meters.

Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park - After breakfast, guests will enjoy a full-day game drive in the beautiful Manyara National Park. They will have the opportunity to see tree-climbing lions, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and many more species. The park features a soda ash lake that attracts thousands of pink flamingos, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Great Rift Wall.

Lake Manyara to Arusha

Arusha - An early morning half-day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park begins at 7:00 a.m. Guests will then depart for Arusha, arriving around 4:00 p.m. Check-in at the Venus Premier Hotel for a relaxing dinner. Bed and breakfast are included.

Arusha to Nairobi

Arusha - Breakfast is served at 6:30 a.m., followed by departure for Nairobi on a morning luxury shuttle leaving at 7:00 a.m. Arrival in Nairobi is around 3:00 p.m., with onward drop-off at the airport or a hotel within Nairobi.
