Lake Nakuru National Park - An early morning pick-up will lead to a drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. The journey passes through the Great Rift Valley, created by powerful subterranean forces that fractured the earth’s crust, causing large sections to sink between parallel fault lines and pushing up molten rock through volcanic eruptions. Lake Nakuru is famed for its vast numbers of flamingos and its rhino sanctuary, home to both black and white rhinos. The flamingos, however, remain the primary attraction, with nearly a million sometimes present, creating a striking deep pink band along the lakeshore.
Arrival is in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive.

Many cheetahs are so accustomed to vehicles that they seek shade under them and some even climb onto the roofs for a better view of potential prey. For bird enthusiasts, nearly 400 species have been recorded, including 16 species of eagles, numerous hawks and falcons, 5 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, and 4 species of bustards (including the kori bustard, among others).
