Amboseli National Park - Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up and given a brief orientation before being driven through Kajiando County, just beyond Nairobi. The journey to Amboseli begins in the morning, heading south through the Masai region to the plains beneath Mt. Kilimanjaro, where Amboseli is located. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route with the stunning backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Expect to see an impressive array of wildlife, including lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, cheetahs, buffalo, and various plains game. Picture-perfect moments are almost guaranteed. Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park - Spend an entire day exploring Amboseli National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. This park is known as an animal paradise. You can visit the Maasai Village to learn about their rich culture for an additional fee. In the early evening, the clouds often clear, revealing the snow-capped peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Observation Hill provides panoramic views of the peak, as well as the park’s plains and swamps. The diverse wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and hundreds of bird species. Amboseli National Park – Lake Naivasha National Park
Lake Naivasha - After breakfast, travel south, passing through Naivasha town and driving around the southern end of the lake, past the flower farms to the entrance of Hell’s Gate National Park. Upon entering the park, you will be greeted by a stunning landscape of semi-arid terrain with rugged cliffs, open plains, and hidden gorges. An afternoon boat ride, available at an additional cost, offers a chance to view hippo colonies on Lake Naivasha. Hell’s Gate offers numerous activities, including walking, cycling, rock climbing, bird watching, and trekking through the gorge among the geysers. Green Crater Lake Game Sanctuary
Naivasha - You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to Crater Lake Game Sanctuary, located between the picturesque Lake Naivasha and the twin Longonot and Suswa Volcanoes. This small sanctuary, surrounding a beautiful volcanic crater lake fringed with acacias, offers many trails, including one for hikers along the steep but small crater rim. The jade-green crater lake is highly regarded by the local Maasai, who believe its alkaline waters help heal ailing cattle. In addition to the impressive 150 bird species recorded here, giraffes, zebras, and other plains wildlife are regular inhabitants of the open plains surrounding the crater. The trek can be challenging and lengthy, so a water bottle and sturdy walking shoes or boots are highly recommended.
Knowledgeable local guides will navigate you through the dense mountain jungle. Upon locating the gorillas, visitors will have the opportunity to observe them for approximately an hour (this duration is strictly regulated by the Uganda Wildlife Authority). Photography is allowed, but flash is prohibited, and there are also limitations on the use of video cameras. Whether or not you have a camera, this is one of Africa’s most awe-inspiring and emotional experiences, sure to leave a lasting impression long after the adventure concludes.
