Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

Lake Naivasha - The tour begins with a 7am pick-up from your Nairobi Hotel. The journey includes a drive down the Great Rift Valley, with a stop at the viewpoint for photography. You then proceed to Hell’s Gate National Park, arriving at 9:30am. At the park, you can choose between a game drive in a Safari vehicle or cycling. Cycling offers a thrilling adventure as you ride for 7 kilometers before resting at a ranger’s post. After a brief stop, leave the bike and embark on a walking safari. Enjoy the stunning views of the gorge and continue on foot through the park’s unique gorges, where narrow passageways and caves are carved into sedimentary rock. After a 1-hour walk, visit a local Maasai community to learn about traditional life and customs in the Great Rift Valley, then head to your Lodge for lunch. Explore Lake Naivasha’s wildlife on a 1-hour boat tour. Spot hippos just below the water’s surface and observe diverse birdlife, including African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbills, and little grebes. At 4pm, conclude the day with a return transfer to your Lodge.

Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve

Maasai Mara National Reserve - From your lodge at Lake Naivasha, start the day with breakfast and depart at 8:30am for Masai Mara National Reserve. The journey covers 250 kilometers and takes approximately 3.5 hours, arriving at Masai Mara at 11:30am. Upon arrival, begin with game viewing drives en route to your reserved camp or lodge. Arrive at the camp by 1:20pm, check-in, and enjoy lunch before the afternoon game drives. In the afternoon, leave the camp/lodge at 3:00pm to explore the jungle and search for wildlife until late afternoon at 6:30pm. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Masai Mara National Reserve Full Day

Maasai Mara National Reserve - After breakfast, spend the entire day exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big Five. Enjoy picnic lunches in the Reserve while taking in the beauty of the Mara from the banks of the Mara River. Optional: In the evening, visit a local Masai village for a cultural tour at USD20. Learn about the Masai community and interact with the local people. An optional balloon safari at a discounted rate of USD450 per person can be arranged early in the morning, followed by the regular program. The Mara is renowned for hosting one of nature’s most spectacular events: the great migration. This annual migration involves millions of wildebeest and zebra moving from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture, followed by savanna predators such as lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.

Masai Mara to Nairobi

Nairobi - Enjoy a morning drive to search for any wildlife not yet spotted before returning to the camp for lunch and check-out. Bid ‘kwaheri,’ a Swahili word for goodbye, to the pastoral Maasai as you depart for Nairobi to catch a flight at the airport for your journey home.
