Nairobi – Masai Mara (approx. 265 km - 5-6 hrs)

Maasai Mara National Reserve - The driver/guide will collect the group from the Nairobi hotel or residence. If arriving on an early morning flight, airport pickup will be arranged.

At around 8 am, with the group ready, the journey to the Masai Mara National Reserve will commence. The route will pass through Masai country, exploring the Great Rift Valley floor.

The journey will continue to the Mara, with views of local homesteads and possibly Maasai herdsmen in their vibrant attire, tending to their cattle.

There will be stops along the way to stretch and appreciate the stunning scenery of the Rift Valley escarpment.

Upon arrival at the Masai Mara in the afternoon, there will be ample time for the first game drive across the savannah of this stunning park, dotted with iconic acacia trees.

This rich and diverse ecosystem offers the most wildlife of any park in the region, so be prepared for abundant animal sightings.

Full Day at the Masai Mara

Maasai Mara National Reserve - This day will be dedicated to unlimited game drives for the group. Explore the vastness of the world’s most renowned park.

Sightings of the Big Five are common, so watch for lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos.

The group will have the chance to drive to the Mara River, the site of the Great Migration during the season from July to October. The massive herds of wildebeest and zebra are a breathtaking sight, rivaled only by the drama of the predators waiting for them.

At the river, hippos will be visible, and crocodiles can be spotted camouflaged in their natural habitat, awaiting the wildlife crossing the river. This spectacle has unfolded for millennia.

To enhance the experience at the Mara, several optional activities are available. Consider visiting the local Maasai people in their nearby village. Meet these indigenous people and witness their ancient lifestyle and culture firsthand.
