Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Guests will be collected from their hotel between 07:00-08:00, depending on the hotel’s location. After orientation, the journey to the Masai Mara Game Reserve begins, with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint and Narok town for lunch. Upon arrival, embark on a game drive to observe various animal species and birds with the guidance of a driver/guide. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a camp equipped with beds and bedding.

Day 2: Masai Mara

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Following breakfast, enjoy a full day of game viewing within the reserve. The landscape features scenic savannah grasslands on rolling hills. This reserve is Kenya’s premier park for game viewing, offering an extensive road and track network for close-range viewing and photography. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at the hippo pool, with opportunities to spot hippos and crocodiles. An optional visit to a Masai village is available at an additional cost. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Miti Mingi Eco Camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru

Lake Nakuru National Park - After breakfast, depart the Mara Region for Lake Nakuru National Park. Lunch will be en route, with scenic views of Mount Longonot and Lake Naivasha from the main highway. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a budget hotel with self-contained rooms.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru - Amboseli

Lake Nakuru National Park - After breakfast, enjoy a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its abundant birdlife, including flamingos. The park also serves as a sanctuary for white rhinos, with species like Cape buffalos and waterbucks visible near the shoreline. Proceed to Amboseli National Park. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a camp with beds and bedding.

Day 5: Amboseli Full Day

Amboseli National Park - Spend the day on game drives in this park, which features swamp grounds where elephants and hippos bathe in abundance. Various plains game, antelopes, and birds can also be observed, along with views of Mount Kilimanjaro’s peak if weather permits. Picnic lunches will be provided, with an overnight stay at the camp with beds and bedding.

Day 6: Amboseli - Arusha

Arusha - After breakfast, travel to Arusha, with potential views of Mount Kilimanjaro if weather conditions allow. Depart Amboseli for Arusha via the Namanga border for immigration formalities, then board a shuttle bus to Arusha, arriving in the afternoon. Drones Africa Safaris’ manager will meet guests at the bus stop and transfer them to a hotel booked on a bed and breakfast basis. Dinner is at the guests’ own expense.

Day 7: Arusha - Lake Manyara

Lake Manyara National Park - After breakfast, guests will be picked up from the hotel and depart for Lake Manyara, with lunch en route. Enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos. Dinner and overnight stay will be in fixed tents.

Day 8: Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - After breakfast, descend 2,000 feet (670 meters) into the crater floor with a picnic lunch. Spend the full day in the park, with a lunch break at Ngoitoktok springs picnic site. The main crater spans 165 kilometers and hosts diverse species such as black-maned lions, rhinos, buffalos, elephants, and other grazing animals. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the campsite.

Day 9: Ngorongoro - Serengeti

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast and a final game drive, depart for Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge. Lunch will be at the Gorge Museum, with visits to various sites of the gorge to see where the remains of prehistoric man were discovered by the renowned archaeologist Dr. L.S.B Leakey. Continue with an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Seronera camp.

Day 10: Serengeti - Arusha

Arusha - After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive in the park before leaving Serengeti National Park. This park is home to numerous animals, including lions, zebras, elephants, and other species. Later, depart for Arusha with lunch en route, arriving in the early evening for an overnight stay at a budget hotel. Dinner is at the guests’ own expense.

Day 11: Arusha - Nairobi

Nairobi - After breakfast, guests will be picked up from the hotel and taken to a shuttle bus for the return journey to Nairobi.

Brilliant experience - We booked our tour with Lizzy who was brilliant. Lizzy was always quick to respond when I asked a million questions on email and she was a pleasure to deal with. Our driver Richard was simply the best , better than all the rest, he was such a good driver and knew he way around the Masai Mara like the back of his hand. Richard allowed us to take as long as we wanted taking photos and was never in a rush.

Unique and exceptional. Great experience! - Both safari in Kenya-Tanzania were extremely safe with very good food. An excellent and experienced guide was Boniface. Beautiful and safe safaris. Very very good food (breakfast lunch and dinner). Boniface was an excellent guide. Congratulations!!!

10 day Kenya-Tanzania Safari (Masai Mara, Nakuru, Amboseli, Serengeti, Ngorongoro) - My girlfriend and I did a 10-day safari in Kenya and Tanzania that included Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Amboseli, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. I will split this review in two parts, one for each country/tour operator. Kenya/ Drone Safaris: We were just 2. Our driver and guide was Boniface. He was amazing in every part of his job. Driving in Kenya is not care-free, but he always made us feel safe. As a guide he is fully knowledgeable, answered all questions and was super adaptive in case we had some request (e.g. extra toilet break or picture-stop requests). Touring with him was very fun and interesting and he did more than we could ask for in order for us to see as many amazing things as possible. We were lucky to have him as a guide. The accommodation in Lake Nakuru was at a basic but decent hotel. No complaints. The Miti Mingi Eco Camp (Masai Mara) was also very good. We had a small issue with the water but was fixed before we were back from the game drive. The people working there were super friendly. The Kimana campsite in Amboseli was worse. The first day we had a dripping toilet, no warm water and a weird semi broken bed. The next day we were given a smaller but good room. I had already read such a case in another review, so in case someone stays here i d recommend checking their room as early as possible. Food was also more basic in this camp. The communication before and during the trip with Lizzy was amazing. I sent way too many questions and she was answering incredibly fast. This was important for us, since you always want to have the feeling of security in a foreign country. Tanzania/ 7 wonders: We were a group of 4. Our driver and guide Hozza was also amazing. He made his best in all cases, drove fast but safe and was great at spotting animals and taking us to the right places at the right time. Thanks to him we could even see the gnu crossing at mara river! We also had a cook that did a great job. In general the food was a bit better in this part of the trip. Our initially booked plan was including one day in lake Manyara, one in Serengeti and one in Ngorongoro. Once we arrived in Arusha, we were offered an alternative of two days in Serengeti and one in Ngorongoro, since lake Manyara is currently flooded (we also saw this on our way to the Ngorongoro). This was a gift from above. I would def recommend two days in Serengeti, as it is maybe the best park i ve been to (very close to Masai Mara). It was also the only reason why we had enough time to see the Mara gnu crossing. We are very thankful that we were offered this alternative. The accommodation in Arusha (Ambassador hotel) was very good and i can def recommend its restaurant. It won’t be anywhere close to fast, but the quality and prices are great. The Seronera camp in Serengeti was not the best. There was no hot water and the bathrooms were dirty. We also had a night at the Serengeti Heritage Camp (lodge/ luxurious camping). Everything was very nice there, from the food to the tents/apartments. Lastly, we were already prepared for the Simba campsite of Ngorongoro and how cold it is, so after all it was fine. There is also hot water, nice view and you will wake up next to zebras that get their breakfast behind your tent! I only communicated once we were in Arusha with George and Evelyn from 7 Wonders, but they were great at proposing the change of plan and at making sure that our booked lodge in Manyara would be “transferred” to one of the Serengeti nights. In general, we are both extremely happy we booked this trip with Drone Safaris. If someone has realistic expectations about potential delays and things that can always happen (we were waiting for a couple hours at the border for the shuttle to Arusha to start for example), then they are free to experience some amazing parks that offer maybe the best safari experience in the world. Go for it.

Great tour of the parks - horrible issues with hotel reservations and unsafe drivers (2 to be exact) - The tours were good, but one of the drivers was going over 25 miles past the limit, tailgating a Petroleum truck while texting and refused to stop texting when requested to do so- endangering everyone in the vehicle. My transfer at the Bus station in Arusha never showed up, and when I got to my hotel I was informed that I had no reservation there. I had to pay for it, despite it already having been paid. This happened on 2 other occasions as well which made the logistical component of the tours horrible - so much so that I would never return. Also, one of the drivers almost flipped the van on 2 occasions within 20 minutes - that was unnacceptable.
