Fagradalsfjall volcano hike
Fagradalsfjall Volcano Eruptions: 2023, 2022, 2021 - The first full day of exploring Iceland begins! The adventure starts with a hike to Fagradalsfjall, the most recently erupted volcano in Iceland and the largest eruption in the past 50 years. The day concludes with a stay in Laugarvatn, after a visit to the thermal baths complex for a relaxing start to the journey.
Golden Circle visits
Golden Circle Route - Today is dedicated to exploring the renowned Golden Circle, featuring three significant geological and historical sites, making it one of Iceland’s most visited attractions. This tour is an excellent introduction to understanding the country. Stops include Thingvellir, Geysir, and the Gullfoss waterfall. Following this, the group will venture into Iceland’s highlands, characterized by vast glaciers, volcanoes, and lava deserts, creating a truly unique landscape.
Kerlingarfjöll trekking
Kerlingarfjoll - Today’s destination is the Kerlingarfjöll mountains, known as “The old woman mountains.” This active geothermal area offers not only trekking but also a chance to bathe in natural thermal waters. The landscape is extraordinary, with slopes in various shades of orange and red, volcanic hot springs, rivulets, and some permanent snow on the peaks. After leaving the highlands, the group will head south to a unique glamping site, where they can relax in spacious, private, and modern tents after a full day.
The waterfalls of the south
Skogafoss - On the fifth day, the tour explores the famous South, home to Iceland’s most iconic landscapes, including the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Skógafoss, Reynisfjara (basalt beach), and the renowned Eyjafjallajökull volcano, known for its 2010 eruption. The group will discover many other waterfalls and hidden gems, hiking alongside and observing them. The day ends in Þakgil, a magical location where the group will hike the following day and spend the night.
Glacier hike and ancient canyon
Vatnajokull Glacier - The morning begins with a trek through the area where the group stayed overnight, uncovering one of the hidden treasures of the region. The journey then continues to Europe’s largest glacier for another ice trek, with the option to try abseiling under the guide’s supervision. The day concludes at Iceland’s most visited and famous canyon, shaped by an ancient and formidable volcano.
Kayak between icebergs and diamond-like lagoons
Vatnajokull Glacier - Returning to the glacier, the group will swap yesterday’s crampons and ice axes for canoes. The main activity is a kayak tour among the icebergs and beneath the ice caves. Following this, another trek will lead to a stunning, lesser-known canyon nestled between the glacier tongues. The day’s final visit is to the unique Jökulsárlón lake, the glacier lagoon, and the diamond beach, formed by the glacier’s movements and ocean waves.
Landmannalaugar trekking
Landmannalaugar - If the interior of Iceland amazed you at the start of the trip, it’s time to return! This time, the group will explore the most famous area of the highlands: Landmannalaugar. Expect a bit of everything: a 4×4 adventure through rivers and lava fields to reach a volcanic area. The refuge offers numerous trekking opportunities and thermal waters for bathing in unforgettable surroundings with stunning mountainous landscapes.
Reykjavík visit
Reykjavik - The last day of this incredible adventure is no less spectacular. Exiting the highlands via another magnificent 4×4 route, the group will visit the most breathtaking waterfall of the entire journey. Once in Reykjavík, a city tour will include Hallgrimskirkja church, Harpa concert & events hall, and Perlan, with the evening and night free to enjoy the city.
Transfer to the Keflavík airport
Keflavík International Airport - It’s time to bid farewell to Iceland! After breakfast, there will be time to explore the capital further or head directly to Keflavík airport. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!
