• Singing Barkhan - Day 1. Singing Barkhan

The adventure kicks off in Almaty early in the morning. At 7:00, the journey begins towards Altyn-Emel National Park. The route takes travelers through scenic steppe landscapes, offering a chance to appreciate the natural beauty. By noon, the group will reach the village of Basshi, the gateway to Altyn-Emel. Here, a delightful home-cooked lunch awaits at a local guest house.

After a refreshing break, the group will proceed to the renowned Singing Dune, a unique natural wonder over 700 years old. When the wind sweeps across its slopes, the dune “sings,” creating sounds similar to organ music. There will be time to climb to the dune’s summit, take in the stunning views of the expansive steppe, and experience the enchantment of this extraordinary location.

In the evening, the group will return to Basshi village to stay at a guesthouse. A warm atmosphere, the hosts’ hospitality, and a chance to unwind before the next exciting day await.

• Aktau Mountains - Day 2. Aktau Mountains

In the morning, after breakfast at the guest house, the group will set off towards the magnificent Aktau Mountains in off-road vehicles. These ancient mountains, made of colorful sedimentary rocks, resemble a genuine “open-air stone museum.” Their vibrant, layered slopes, ranging from snow-white to red and turquoise, create the feeling of being on another planet. During the hike, there will be opportunities to climb to observation points to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views and capture stunning photographs. The incredible shapes and colors of Aktau narrate a story that spans millions of years.

• Katutau Mountain - After exploring Aktau, the journey continues to Katutau, which are volcanic mountains. Their unusual rock formations resemble fantastic figures crafted by nature itself. Observing the frozen lava shapes feels like stepping into another world. A stop will be made here for an outdoor lunch, providing a wonderful chance to relax, enjoy the tranquility, and feel the power of the ancient mountains. A packed lunch prepared by the guest house owners will be brought along to enjoy outdoors later.

• Katutau Mountain - Following the visit to the Katutau mountains, a stop will be made at an ancient willow tree with a 700-year history. This remarkable tree symbolizes nature’s resilience and strength. There will be 20 minutes to relax, take photos, and soak in the serene atmosphere before heading back to the village.
