Kayak and hike to secret falls - What a great experience! The kayak paddle upriver was easy and peaceful. The hike through the jungle was moderate with some areas slippery and a couple stream crossings, but wearing the proper shoes for water and hiking is helpful. There is a set of boards for part of the hike that makes it much easier to navigate the slippery slope. At the end the waterfall was amazing! Very tall and you can get into the pool at the bottom, and also walk under the falls if desired. Then repeat the return trip in reverse and your back to the launching point! Our guide amazing and stayed with the group the whole time and made sure everyone was good to go along the way. He was very knowledgeable about the area and helpful in getting us from the checkin point. To the launching point and back. We would definitely recommend this tour but it was fairly strenuous to navigate.

See the REAL Hawaii! - Ty was a fantastic guide! Once we completed the two-mile kayak up the river, he highlighted the vegetation and trees on the 1.2 mile hike through one river and across two brooks on the way to the majestic waterfall. This is way a see the REAL Hawaii! Definitely recommend!!!

Amazing - Levi was an amazing guide. Beautiful falls hike and kayak trip. Make sure you bring sunscreen, and if it’s muddy (only after a lot of rain) sandals with an ankle strap work well

Adventure on the Wailua river - Great day kayaking! It was fun kayaking, but it is a workout! The beginning of the hike after kayaking was wading through the river. The river was high and was above our waist. The current was strong and I’m not going to lie a little scary! I had a stick to help my balance and made it through! Our guide Levi was there to help and everyone crossed safely! The hike to the waterfall was good, a little muddy. It was fun on the hike and beautiful scenery!! Our guide Levi was very informative and fun! Levi sang to us while playing his ukulele on the hike, great voice!! The dip in the waterfall pool was refreshing!! The hike back and kayaking was good! I would highly recommend this excursion!

Secret Falls - We really enjoyed the kayak and hike to the secret falls. A beautiful place to visit. Our guide Ty was knowledgeable and the pace was just right. I do recommend wearing keens or shoes that can get wet but have good grip ( you do wade through a river) and quick dry clothes.

Intense for this semi-fit 68-yo, but definitely worth it. - Levi (Lev-E) is a GREAT GUIDE and SINGER. He walks through the mud barefoot, playing the ukulele and singing, while the rest of us follow behind. If you're lucky, you will get him as your guide. His first morning Hawaiian prayer/song is very moving. Get your cameras ready. I was not quick enough to capture it. Keep in mind I'm an atheist, and there's a lot of proselytizing on this trip, but it all is in the spirit of kindness and Hawaiian aloha. I also brought up the fact that Noah's Ark is the world's first sex education. I offered this idea to the group, and one person (male) in the line said, "You mean male and female?" and, I said,"Yeah, 2 x 2. And this is actually from the Epic of Gilgamesh, which is 2,500 years older than the Bible." We can all proselytize... This is a very intensive six hour experience. It's good to have had some kayak experience before you do this. You will have to kayak for at least an hour, and that means constantly moving your arms. And then you walk through a muddy jungle beside a river, which you have to ford at several points. To call the terrain level would be not recognizing how many rocks and roots one has to go over. However, with all of this warning, I highly recommend this tour. If a fit 67- and 68-yo can do it, it can't be that hard. The mud can be slippery. Some people with the Teva sandals took them off and walked barefoot. My husband and I had WATER BOOTIES. Mine were great. His didn't have enough tread. The shoes you wear really matter on this trip. Do not wear tennis shoes. We also had GLOVES for the kayaking and we kept them on for the hike, which was helpful because we had to grab rocks several times. The tour did have an Outward Bound feel to it (I write, having never done Outward Bound), but because the person leading the tour was so positive and happy and constantly singing (which I tried to harmonize with, but I was also trying to breathe...), the whole trip felt very doable, happy, and nice. Levi waited for the slowest kayaker and everyone waited at agreed check points. Everyone was a trouper. No one whined. It was a nice experience to be with kind strangers.

Challenging. - Harder than I thought. Wear hiking sandals or water shoes. If unsteady at all bring a pole. Levi was a terrific guide.
