If you do one thing in Kauai, go hike with Charlie - We had the pleasure and true privilege for Charlie to guide us up to the rock face of Pu’u Konanae. We’ve hiked with Charlie before and he asked us if we wanted to go on door 1.5 (if you go with him you’ll understand the door rated system) and we wouldn’t turn down an opportunity for a new adventure. The hike took a few hours navigating interior Hawaiian lands used as hunting and dirtbiking paths. His knowledge, humor and good vibes carried us up through the canopies to views looking south and eastward. We ended with a cool dip in a river we crossed on the way in, and a quick drive back out of the land. I’ve been coming to Kauai for 17 years, and only came across Charlie’s hikes in the last few years. They are the most social hikes I’ve ever done here—the interior is the last bit of untouched Kauai, and Charlie’s knowledge of its histories is worth the experience alone. Don’t hesitate, get some good bug repellant, long pants, and go.

Once-in-a-lifetime adventure. - We absolutely loved our experience. The terrain was breathtaking and we felt like we were in a primeval world. It was us immersed in nature on a genuine adventure. My group described it as one of the best things we had ever done in our lives. Charlie did a great job training us on rappelling technique and safety (some of us had never done it before) and was super friendly and knowledgeable. It felt like you were on a hike with your favorite uncle or grandfather. Recent rains had made the trails generally pretty muddy. Prepare to get thoroughly wet and dirty. While relatively short, the hike out of the valley can be challenging with many stream crossings and a steep climb out. Pace yourself and watch your footing. Overall, this was a magical experience that was good for the soul. We would highly recommend doing this adventure if you want to be away from crowded tourist activities and desire to have a one-of-a-kind adventure deep in a beautiful and pristine landscape.

So much fun! - Great trip!!! We had a lot of fun, Hawaiian Dundee was a cool guy. We loved swimming at the waterfall and crossing the creeks! Will definitely remember this experience.

Awesome Day! - Charlie was very experienced and was very safety conscious. It was an incredible day and included everything adventurous that we wanted. He worked with us on the level of a activity which we could do and wanted to do. Thank you, Charlie for giving us such a fun adventure!

Amazing local adventure in Kauai! - My wife and I booked a tour with Charlie and had an amazing time. It was our first time rapelling and we loved being able to explore this hidden gem in Kauai. It was really nice to be on our own private tour which felt like you were hiking with a local and not on a tourist attraction. Charlie was a great guide, and this was definitely a highlight of our trip.

Hawaii Dundee is one of a kind! Glad that we found him =) - From the minute we met at check-in, we all knew that we were going to have a great time. We discussed the customized tour at length before we started and we all agreed on the days itinerary, which was built around all of our abilities and skill levels - including our 14-yr old. All day, we were challenged, made to laugh and learned about nature and Hawaiian culture. We hiked, saw waterfalls, used ropes, ate fruit, climbed and laughed. A fantastic day!!! Will we be back - YES, for a different adventure.

Best experience - Our family loved this experience & will do another adventure with the Hawaiian Dundee when we return to Kauai! Both of my boys loved rappelling down the falls, jumping off the cliffs & swimming in the pool. The views are spectacular & exploring the jungle is something my family will never forget. I’d recommend this over any guided trip we’ve ever been on. - We don’t leave reviews often, mainly because people can be so emotional biased on a bad day, something that triggered them, or perhaps just woke up angry that day and in the end just sets people in the wrong direction….. but this trip was one for the books. Charlie is legitimately the most humble, authentic, and genuine guide we’ve ever had the pleasure to hang with. Words can’t state how incredible of a time our family had. We learned about the culture, respect for the island, his overall passion for nature and in the end, walked away with an appreciation not only for the scenery but also of the history of such a beautiful place. The views were incredible and the company was unforgettable. Charlie, we will always cherish the time we spent with you, and will remember this trip as one of the best times we’ve had as a family in all our travels. Mahalo and I hope we get to see you again one day.

Great PHYSICAL waterfall tour 😀 - We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Dundee Charlie! To be clear, this is a VERY PHYSICAL tour through the Hawaiian jungle. Charlie will change up the tour according to the physical level of the group BUT this is not for those that are not physically capable to climb, traverse, jump, walk through small streams, etc. We had a fantastic time and would do it again 😀 Thanks Dundee Charlie!
