BEE BEST Kauai Honey Farm Tour and Tasting - Well curated, well coordinated tour of the Lydgate Honey Bee Farms. Roni and Jess did a great job explaining everything you'd ever want to know about honey bees and honey. Highly recommended. Thanks Will for creating this experience. And thanks Mel for recommending it.

Great tour - delicious honey! - Great tour! Jess and Jasmine were knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed learning about the bees, seeing them upclose, and harvesting the honey. Our only constructive feedback - the size of our group (15) made it very difficult for shorter people to see, as the tallest people always seemed to crowd up front.

Totally unique experience! - Ronnie & Jess are absolutely amazing and extremely knowledgeable about everything bees and honey. It's obvious they share a love for the bees and the island. We came away with a greater appreciation for bees. We got up close and personal with a hive, but not to worry as you are in a bee keeper's suit with the attached bonnet and gloves. There is nothing else like this experience on Kauai.

Bee Tour - The ladies did an excellent job of explaining bee keeping and its environmental importance. Everyone was very kind and welcoming and safety came first. You can tell they love their job, and the bees. We loved this tour and the products. Highly recommend!

Treat yourself - don’t miss this!! - It is hard to know where to start on this review other than to highly recommend this as a “must do”. Roni and McKenzie were amazing guides and are authentic ambassadors of the true meaning of “aloha” as well as making this tour a gem in the Lydgate offerings. Their passion for the bees and beekeeping was evident from the moment the event started and never waned! This was the complete opposite of the rote, overly-rehearsed tours so often encountered. This was information-rich and genuine for both the uninitiated and existing beekeepers. A great introduction to the entire “lifecycle” of honey and the hard work done by the bees to produce it - particularly in Kauai with its unique qualities. And of course, the tasting of various honeys, including freshly harvested honey (in front of us). Very cool and delicious! We highly recommend this and look forward to Roni and McKenzie coming to Wisconsin next year for the expo!! (You know how to reach us!! ;) Mahalo nui loa and a hui hoa!)

Best Tour Ever - We have been many places around the world, experienced more tours than I can count and this is by far the best one yet. What a unique and informative experience. Ronnie and Jasmine absolutely love their jobs and you can tell. They are so knowledgeable and able to make the information relatable. The humor they add in is off the chart. And the honey…we got an amazing batch that is beyond delicious. If you can’t decipher the floral or Cacau notes in the honey, Ronnie and Jasmine will guide you through the tasting. Well worth the time and money. Not to mention, the beauty of the farm is stunning. Enjoy the hive!!!

Great Kauai Experience! Sweet Local Honey and the hardworking ladies who produce it. - Ronnie and Brook were very bee knowledgeable, safe, and careful with all living creatures. (Even a huge, gross cane spider that was hunting their beloved bees) They glowed with respect and love for Hawai’i and all her living creatures. The bee hive tour was very informative and yummy. We sampled much of the produce from the farm as well as honey directly pulled from the hive as we watched. What a fun experience. And bring your silliest bee puns.

Bzzz bzzz - don't miss out on this fun and unique agricultural tour! - I was traveling with my family and found this tour on Tripadvisor. I thought this was such a unique experience so I booked it. Because it was rainy, we were not able to open the hives for the safety of the bees but the guide was able to open some of the "windows" in the hives so we can see inside and had pre-harvested a honeycomb for us to see (and taste!). The tour guides were extremely knowledgable about beekeeping and did a good job of balancing the information based on the experience of the group. As someone who has no experience beekeeping, I felt like I learned a lot as someone new to this world while the other more experienced beekeepers also asked a lot of questions and were really engaged. The demonstrations and honey tasting were really amazing - you can really taste how flavors of honey can really change based on environments and the pollen/nectar they source from (we even compared it to storebought). The local honey was so tasty that we even had to buy a couple jars for ourselves to bring home. We were so happy to take this tour and help support local sustainable agriculture and highly recommend for a unique experience while you're visiting!

Very Fun, Very Educational! - We had the joy of having Brooke and McKenna as our tour guides, and they were so knowledgeable about bees, honey, and general agriculture of Hawaii! There was an into talk going over general beekeeping, the specific beekeeping philosophy at Lydgate, and what the rest of the tour would look like. The beesuits were easy to put on, and it was so fun to be a small part of the process. It was raining during our your, and Brooke and McKenna handled it very well, making sure we could still experience the hives and honey while keeping the bees safe. After having done the chocolate tour twice, this was a fun be experience and I would highly recommend it.
