Kathmandu Durbar Square - After enjoying a hearty breakfast, your sightseeing tour begins at 8:30 am. A private vehicle and a professional tour guide will be at your service. The tour includes visits to Hindu and Buddhist sites, such as Pashupatinath Temple and Bouddhanath Stupa.

Kathmandu Durbar Square (World Heritage Site)

This complex of palaces, courtyards, and temples, constructed between the 12th and 18th centuries, was once the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. The palace building also houses three museums.

Swoyambhu Mahachaitya - Swoyambhunath Stupa – The Monkey Temple (World Heritage Site)

From the top of a hillock on the western side, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the valley. Swoyambhu, also known as Samhengu and the Monkey Temple, is home to numerous monkeys.

Pashupatinath Temple - Pashupatinath Temple (World Heritage Site)

Pashupatinath is one of the most revered Hindu shrines globally, located 5 km east of the city center. The richly adorned pagoda houses the sacred Linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva.

Boudhanath Stupa - This 2500-year-old Buddhist stupa, built in the 5th century, features four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions, eternally watching over the people. Tibetan Buddhist pilgrims can be seen circling the stupa, spinning prayer wheels.

Drive to Pokhara (827 m) (6-7 hrs)

Pokhara - After a 6:00 a.m. breakfast, head to the tourist Bus Park at Thamel to board a bus to Pokhara. The 7-hour journey through winding roads offers breaks for snacks and lunch. The drive on one of the major highways is exhilarating, with stunning views of tributaries, lush green hills, and roadside settlements.

Pokhara to Kagbeni (2804 m)

Kag Chode Thupten Samphel Ling Monastery - After a delightful breakfast in Pokhara, embark on a scenic drive to Kagbeni. The journey to Mustang’s starting point passes through breathtaking landscapes. Kagbeni village, located on the banks of the rushing Kaligandaki River, serves as the main entrance to Upper Mustang.

Kagbeni to Charang

Charang to Luri Cave and return to Charang

Lo Manthang - Hike to Luri Cave, southeast of Lo Manthang. The Luri Gompa, a monastery perched above the landscape like an eagle’s nest, is also known as the sky caves. The cave features sandstone cliffs and bluffs shaped by winds into tapered or pillar-like structures. After exploring this historic cave, return to Charang.

Charang to Lo Manthang

Lo Manthang - After an early breakfast, drive from Charang to Lo Manthang, the kingdom’s capital. Lo Manthang offers a rich taste of Buddhist culture and lifestyle. Known for its whitewashed mud brick walls, Gompas, and the Royal Palace of the Mustang King, Lo Manthang features four major temples: Jampa Gompa, Thubchen Gompa, Chodey Gompa, and Choprang Gompa, all built in the 14th century. Overnight stay in Lo Manthang.

Explore Chosar Cave and Chosar Village

Lo Manthang - A drive from Lo Manthang leads to the charming Chosar Village, characterized by stone walls and bone-white glowing hills. Crossing suspension bridges and cultivated lands in Upper Mustang, reach Chosar Village to explore the Chosar caves. Return to Charang village for an overnight stay at a comfortable tea house lodge.

Charang to Chhusang

Chhusang - Chhusang village, located at the junction of the Narsingha River and the massive Kaligandaki, is surrounded by white, orange, and red sandy cliffs. Like much of the Mustang region, Chhusang is gradually modernizing. The village offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Overnight stay in Chhusang.

Chhusang to Muktinath (3710 m)

Muktinath Temple - The journey to Muktinath, a sacred site, features sparse green vegetation, frequent waterfalls, and stunning mountain views. Situated at 3710m at the base of Thorung La mountain pass, Muktinath is renowned for sky dancers. The water flowing from 108 taps at Muktinath is considered holy, and people bathe in the icy water to cleanse their sins. Overnight stay in Muktinath.

Muktinath to Pokhara

Pokhara - Departing the Himalayan desert, head towards Pokhara. The pleasant drive through tranquil trails, lush vegetation, and dramatic landscapes adds a sparkle to the journey to the city of lakes. Overnight stay at a 3-star hotel in Pokhara.

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

Thamel - After a 6:00 a.m. breakfast, prepare to return to Kathmandu. The 7-hour bus ride through winding roads includes breaks for snacks and lunch. Retracing the route, arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.
