Pashupatinath is one of the most revered Hindu shrines globally, located 5 km east of the city center. The richly adorned pagoda houses the sacred Linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva.
Boudhanath Stupa - This 2500-year-old Buddhist stupa, built in the 5th century, features four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions, eternally watching over the people. Tibetan Buddhist pilgrims can be seen circling the stupa, spinning prayer wheels.
Drive to Pokhara (827 m) (6-7 hrs)
Pokhara - After a 6:00 a.m. breakfast, head to the tourist Bus Park at Thamel to board a bus to Pokhara. The 7-hour journey through winding roads offers breaks for snacks and lunch. The drive on one of the major highways is exhilarating, with stunning views of tributaries, lush green hills, and roadside settlements.
Pokhara to Kagbeni (2804 m)
Kag Chode Thupten Samphel Ling Monastery - After a delightful breakfast in Pokhara, embark on a scenic drive to Kagbeni. The journey to Mustang’s starting point passes through breathtaking landscapes. Kagbeni village, located on the banks of the rushing Kaligandaki River, serves as the main entrance to Upper Mustang.

Charang to Luri Cave and return to Charang
Lo Manthang - Hike to Luri Cave, southeast of Lo Manthang. The Luri Gompa, a monastery perched above the landscape like an eagle’s nest, is also known as the sky caves. The cave features sandstone cliffs and bluffs shaped by winds into tapered or pillar-like structures. After exploring this historic cave, return to Charang.
Charang to Lo Manthang
Lo Manthang - After an early breakfast, drive from Charang to Lo Manthang, the kingdom’s capital. Lo Manthang offers a rich taste of Buddhist culture and lifestyle. Known for its whitewashed mud brick walls, Gompas, and the Royal Palace of the Mustang King, Lo Manthang features four major temples: Jampa Gompa, Thubchen Gompa, Chodey Gompa, and Choprang Gompa, all built in the 14th century. Explore Chosar Cave and Chosar Village
Lo Manthang - A drive from Lo Manthang leads to the charming Chosar Village, characterized by stone walls and bone-white glowing hills. Muktinath to Pokhara

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
