From the Sabje Khola Valley’s wide plains, Annapurna IV (7525m) becomes visible. Cross the reduced flow of the Marsyangdi Khola via a wooden bridge to the small village of Mungji. Cultivated fields appear on both sides of the path, and to the right, below a craggy mountain, lies the village of Bryaga (3500m) with its splendid monastery. Large chortens and mani walls abound, and the tall peaks of the Himalayas spread out before you - Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Gangapurna (7454m), and, to the rear, Tilicho Peak (7134m).

Dhaulagiri appears on the horizon, soon dominating the view. The path traverses upwards, with Tilicho Lake briefly visible between mountainsides behind. Traverse a rocky gradient for about half a mile. A rock tower, an unusual signpost to Jomsom, marks the Mesokanto La itself.
