Arrival in Kathmandu (Elevation – 1400 m)
Kathmandu - Welcome to Kathmandu, the starting point of your trek to Manaslu. Upon arrival at the airport, representatives from Himalayan Planet Adventure will greet you at the terminal. You will be escorted to your hotel to refresh. After resting, visit our office to meet your guide and receive a briefing about your upcoming trek and any additional programs. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner featuring a traditional cultural program. After dinner, you will be taken back to your hotel for the night.
Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Pashupatinath Temple - On the second day, explore the beauty of the Kathmandu Valley, known as the city of temples. The valley is home to 7 out of 10 World Heritage Sites in Nepal, and you will visit three of them.
The first stop is the Pashupatinath Temple. After breakfast, visit the Pashupatinath temple complex, which spans 0.64 hectares and includes over 500 temples and shrines. It is located on both sides of the sacred Bagmati River. The main temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, features a pagoda-style structure with a large bronze bull statue facing the original temple. It is a spiritual haven for Hindus, attracting worshippers from India and other countries with Hindu populations. The banks of the Bagmati River serve as cremation sites for Hindus. You will also encounter many Sadhus who have devoted their lives to Lord Shiva and perform their daily rituals there.
Boudhanath Stupa - Next, visit the Boudhanath Stupa, a significant Buddhist site with a large white dome standing 36 meters tall. Built in a mandala style, the Boudhanath Stupa is surrounded by numerous monasteries and serves as a center for Tibetan Buddhism. You will see many Tibetan refugees residing in the area. The Stupa is vibrant and peaceful, with many prayer wheels and flags that sway in the wind. The prayer mantras will purify and uplift you. The white dome is adorned with numerous Buddha images. After spending some time there, proceed to the final destination of the day.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square - Finally, visit Bhaktapur, the city of devotees. Bhaktapur is an ancient city with historic structures featuring intricate designs. Your main destination in Bhaktapur will be the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, known for the 55-window palace and Nyatapola temple. Don’t miss trying the local curd, which is quite popular. You will stay in Kathmandu for the night.
Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola (Elevation – 700 m)
Soti Khola - This marks the first day of your trek to Manaslu. You will be picked up early in the morning and driven to the starting point of your trek. From Kathmandu, you will travel to Arughat, an 8-hour drive, and then to Soti Khola, a 2-hour journey. The total travel time for the day is 10 hours. Initially, the roads are graveled, but as you approach Soti Khola, the ride becomes dusty and bumpy. Upon arrival at Soti Khola, you will be greeted by a stunning landscape with terraced farms, stone-paved paths, and picturesque villages. You will spend the night at Soti Khola.
Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola (Elevation – 900 m)
Machhakhola - The following day marks the true beginning of your Manaslu Circuit Trek, with a 6-hour walk along narrow paths and rocky trails. You will be surrounded by breathtaking countryside views. As you continue, you will pass through a sal forest and encounter numerous waterfalls, rivers, and cliffs, eventually reaching villages inhabited by the Gurung and Ghale communities. The journey features challenging paths, but the surrounding beauty makes each step more rewarding. Your trek for the day concludes at Machha Khola, where you will spend the night.
Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat (Elevation – 1340 m)
Jagat - This day’s trek involves approximately 7 hours of walking along the winding roads by the Budi Gandaki River. First, cross Machha Khola and proceed through a forest trail. Keep an eye out for monkeys and langurs. You will pass through a Gurung village along the way. If time permits, enjoy a hot water bath en route to Jagat. Cross a suspension bridge to reach Dovan, walking across wooden and long cantilever bridges. You will need to verify your trekking permit before continuing to Jagat, where you will stay overnight.
Trek from Jagat to Deng (Elevation – 2095 m)
Trek from Deng to Namrung (Elevation – 2700 m)
Namrung - The trail to Namrung is uneven and zigzagging from the river, so exercise caution during the 6-hour journey. Cross suspension bridges to reach Rana and Bihi Phedi. You will encounter many Mani Stones along the way. Pass through a forest and then ascend to Namrung village. Upon reaching Namrung, you will be treated to views of Ganesh Himal, Siringi Himal, and Mt. Himal Chuli from the south. Spend the night in Namrung.

Bimthang - Today, you will reach the highest point of your Manaslu Circuit Trek, Larkya La Pass. Begin the trek early, as it is a 10-hour journey to Bimthang. You will be greeted by views of peaks such as Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Mt. Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. Descend past massive icefalls and enjoy 360-degree mountain views before walking through low pastures to reach Bimthang. Spend the night in Bimthang.
Trek from Bimthang to Dharapani (Elevation – 1860 m)
Dharapani - This is the final day of your trek. It is an 8-hour journey to Dharapani. After crossing a challenging pass, the trek becomes easier. Walk through lush forests of pine and rhododendron bushes. The view of the Marsyangdi Valley is stunning. You will pass through agricultural lands and police checkpoints. On the way to Dharapani, you will reach Tilje, known for local alcohol made by the Gurung community. Spend the night in Dharapani.
Drive from Dharapani to Beshishahar (Elevation – 760 m)
Besisahar - Today, you will drive to Beshishahar, an 8-hour journey. Relax during the drive and allow your body to recover from the trek. Enjoy mesmerizing mountain views along the way. Spend the night in Beshishahar.
Drive from Beshishahar to Kathmandu
Kathmandu Valley - Today, you will return to Kathmandu. Follow a route along famous rivers to reach the city. Upon arrival, take time to relax in warm water. In the evening, celebrate your successful Manaslu trek with a farewell dinner. If you wish to extend your stay, we offer additional packages in Nepal, Tibet, India, or Bhutan.
Departure day
TIA - On this day, you will depart from this mountainous country and return to your daily life. After breakfast, enjoy some last-minute souvenir shopping.
