Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
Swayambhunath Temple - Today, we take a break in the valley to prepare for the trek and explore the UNESCO World Heritage sites. The tour begins with the Swayambhunath Temple, perched on a hill to the west of the Kathmandu Valley. Next, we visit the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath. Moving away from religious sites, we head to Kathmandu Durbar Square. The day concludes at Boudhanath Monastery, known for its serene atmosphere. We can also prepare for the trek and purchase necessary supplies.
Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla | 2840m and trek to Phakding | 2610m | 2-3 Hrs
Lukla - The day starts early as we depart from Kathmandu to Lukla. The 30-minute flight provides a stunning view of the central Nepal Himalayas. Landing at Lukla airstrip offers a taste of its renowned thrill. After a brief rest in Lukla, we begin our trek towards Phakding.
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar | 3440m | 5-6 Hrs
Namche Bazaar - Trekking through lush forests adorned with pine and fir trees, we reach Monjo. Beyond Monjo lies the vibrant village of Jorsalle, the entry point to Sagarmatha National Park. Guided by breathtaking views of Thamserku (6,623m) and Kongde Ri (6,187m), we proceed to Namche. Nestled at the foothills of the majestic Himalayas, the town has been a trading and administrative hub for generations.
Acclimatization Day at Namche
Namche Bazaar - To help our bodies adjust to the increasing altitude, we take a day off in Namche. For our acclimatization hike, we can either visit the towns of Khumjung and Khunde or head to the Everest View Hotel. The journey to Khumjung and Khunde is culturally rich with vibrant villages and monasteries. The hike to the Everest View Hotel focuses on the Himalayan views, including sightings of Mt. Everest (8,848m).
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche | 3860m
Tengboche - Trekking through the gradually opening valley, we head towards Tengboche. The journey along the ascending Himalayan trail reaches Phunki Thanga, where we pause to admire the stunning views of Mt. Everest (8,848m) and Mt. Lhotse (8,414m). Following the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, we traverse the steep trail. With views of Ama Dablam (6,856m), we arrive at Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery.
Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche | 4410m
Dingboche - Departing from Tengboche, we gradually ascend through the Himalayan trail to Debouche. The trail enters the snowy Himalayan landscape, ascending through rocky paths. Later, we reach Pangboche, with stunning views of Ama Dablam (6,856m) and Thamserku (6,608m). Further along, the trail leads us to the banks of the Imja River, beyond which lies Dingboche.
Acclimatization Day at Dingboche
Dingboche - On our final acclimatization day, we rest to adapt to the increasing altitude. The hamlet of Dingboche, known as the “summer valley,” offers various acclimatization hikes. The most popular is the journey to Dingboche Ri. At an altitude of 5,075m, the mountain top provides a stunning Himalayan panorama, featuring the summits of Lobuche East (6,119m), Kangtega (6,685m), Taboche Peak (6,367m), and Ama Dablam (6,856m).
Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche | 4910m
Lobuche - The Himalayan trail from Dingboche ascends towards Dughla. Zigzagging through majestic snowy landscapes, we reach Pheriche. The final stretch of the trek takes us through the glacial moraines of Khumbu Glacier. The views of Khumbutse (6,665m), Lingtren (6,749m), and Pumo Ri (7,165m) adorn the horizon. Beyond the glacial moraines lies the hamlet of Lobuche, our stop for the night.
Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5140m) via Everest Base Camp (5364m)
Everest Base Camp Trail - Today is a significant and longer day. Departing from Lobuche, the trail ascends through glacial moraines to monuments dedicated to fallen mountaineers. A short climb along the Khumbu Glacier brings us to Everest Base Camp. We take time to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience, observing the Himalayas, including Nuptse (7,861m) and Pumo Ri (7,165m). Later, we proceed to Gorakshep for the night.
Hike up to Kalapatthar and trek down to Pheriche
Kala Patthar - A scenic day awaits, beginning early as we head to Kalapatthar to witness the sunrise. Through rocky pathways, we gradually ascend to the hilltop to experience a glorious Himalayan sunrise. As the sun rises, the summit of Mt. Everest (8,848m) turns golden, illuminating the sky. After enjoying the sunrise, we return to Gorakshep. Following a pleasant Himalayan breakfast, we descend to Pheriche.
Trek down to Namche Bazaar
Namche Bazaar - Leaving behind the rocky trails through snowy landscapes, we head to Namche. From Pheriche, the trail descends back to Dingboche, crossing Dughla en route. Quickly navigating through Sherpa settlements, we continue to Tengboche. The final stretch of the trail leads back to the rhododendron forests and the town of Namche.
Trek from Namche to Lukla
Lukla - On the final day of our trek, we return to Lukla from Namche. The journey is pleasant, descending through Sagarmatha National Park. Passing through the villages of Monjo and Jorsalle, we exit the national park, landing alongside the Dudh Koshi River. Crossing several small villages, including Bengkar, Phakding, and Chhuthawa, we reach Lukla.
Take a flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
Kathmandu - The day begins early as we prepare to depart from Lukla to Kathmandu. Recreating the thrill of taking off from Lukla airstrip, we take to the skies, looking back at the Himalayas. The 30-minute flight offers contrasting landscapes, from snow-capped Himalayas to lush green valleys. Upon landing in Kathmandu, we head directly to the hotel, concluding our travel days.
Spare Day (In case of Bad weather)
Kathmandu - Depending on the weather, flights departing from Lukla may be delayed. To accommodate such occurrences, we reserve a day. However, if the day is not needed, you can enjoy a free day in Kathmandu.
Departure
Kathmandu - Our representatives will once again escort you to Tribhuvan International Airport in time for your flight home. We hope you had a wonderful time with us and look forward to welcoming you again.
