Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Kathmandu - Upon arrival in Kathmandu, an Airport Representative will greet you at Tribhuwan International Airport. A private tourist vehicle will take you to your hotel. You can choose to relax or visit our office to learn more about the trek. Your first night will be spent in a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Flight…
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Kathmandu - Upon arrival in Kathmandu, an Airport Representative will greet you at Tribhuwan International Airport. A private tourist vehicle will take you to your hotel. You can choose to relax or visit our office to learn more about the trek. Your first night will be spent in a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla
Phakding - After breakfast, you’ll be driven from the hotel to the domestic airport terminal for an early morning flight to Lukla. The flight offers breathtaking views of the sunrise over the snow-capped mountains. After a 40-minute flight, you’ll land at Tenzing-Hillary Airport, the gateway to the Himalayas. The trek begins from the airport, and after meeting the crew, a short walk will take you to Phakding. As it’s the first day of the trek, you’ll rest in Phakding. Overnight stay in a lodge/tea house.
Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m): 5-4 Hours
Namche Bazaar - The trek starts early, passing through beautiful pine forests, the Dudh Koshi River, and views of Mount Thamserku. After passing several settlements, you’ll reach a check post, the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. The trail continues through the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers, leading to a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar. Here, you’ll catch your first glimpse of the magnificent Mount Everest and the ridges of Mount Lhotse and Mount Nuptse. Overnight stay in a lodge/tea house.
Day 4: Namche: Acclimatization and Rest Day
Namche Bazaar - The largest settlement in the Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar is well-equipped with ATMs, internet cafes, restaurants, bakeries, and more. Although it’s a rest day for acclimatization, a short hike to a nearby viewpoint (Thame or Khunde) is planned, along with a tour of the area, including the Tourist Visitor Center. Here, you’ll learn about Everest climbers, Sherpa culture, and the region’s flora and fauna. Overnight stay in a lodge/tea house.
Day 5: Trek from Namche to Phorse Village/Tengboche Monastery (3800m): 5-6 Hours
Tyangboche - The trail continues, leaving Namche Bazaar behind. You’ll pass through juniper and rhododendron forests, enjoying stunning mountain views along the way, until reaching Tengboche. A visit to the largest monastery in the Sagarmatha region, Tengboche Gompa, is included.
Day 6: Trek from Phorse Village or Tengboche to Dingboche (4360m): 6-7 Hours
Dingboche - The trek from Phorse or Tengboche to Dingboche begins with a visit to the largest Buddhist Monastery in the region. The journey continues through alpine forests to the large village of upper Pangboche, and further through the villages of Shomare, Orsho, and Tsuro Wog. You’ll enjoy beautiful views of the soaring mountains, including Taboche, Mount Thamserku, Mount Ama Dablam, Mount Nuptse, Mount Cholatse, and Mount Lhotse, as you pass through the Khumbila Khola valley to the ridge top. Continuing along the trail through Imja Khola, you’ll eventually reach Dingboche. Overnight stay in a lodge/tea house.
Day 7: Dingboche Acclimatization Day (4600m)
Dingboche - This is an acclimatization day. You have the option to hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5083 m) or Chhukung Ri (5546 m). You’ll be rewarded with spectacular views, but it’s important to rest for the final leg of your adventure. You might choose to explore Dingboche and the surrounding villages of Chhukung and Imja or take a rest for the next hike. Short hikes can be done in various ways, including Nagarjun Hill (2,128m) and Chhukung Ri (5,546m). The top of Nagarjun Hill offers views of Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lobuche, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and other peaks.
Day 8: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4940m): 4-5 Hours
Lobuche - The trek involves walking up the steep terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier, leading to the ascent to Chupki Lhara, where you’ll find slopes with boulders. You’ll encounter a collection of stones with prayer flags, serving as memorials to American mountaineer Scott Fischer and Babu Chhiri Sherpa, a 10-time Everest summiteer. Beautiful views of Khumbutse, Mount Lingtse, Mount Pumori, and Mount Mahalangur can be seen as the trail crosses the Khumbu glacier, where mild symptoms of altitude sickness may be experienced. Overnight stay in a lodge/tea house.
Day 9: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5150m): 7-8 Hours
Lobuche - The trek to Everest Base Camp (5364m) and back to Gorakshep is the most significant day of the Everest Base Camp trek. At Thangma Riju, you’ll experience a 360-degree panoramic view of snow-capped mountains. Although Mount Everest is not visible from here, Mount Nuptse and Mount Pumori are clearly seen. Below Mount Pumori, a grey grassy land of Kalapathar can be observed after climbing the steep terrain of the Changri glacier. Overnight stay in a lodge/tea house.
Day 10: Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (5545m) to Pheriche (4280m): 7-8 Hours
Gorakshep - The trek begins early in the morning, allowing trekkers to witness the first glimpse of Mount Everest as dawn breaks. Along the way, peaks such as Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse are visible. During the ascent to Kalapatthar, which takes several hours, it’s recommended to pause and catch your breath while taking photos. A panoramic view of the Himalayas can be enjoyed at Gorakshep. The descent to Pheriche begins after lunch. Overnight stay in a lodge/tea house.
Day 11: Trek from Pheriche to Namche (3440m): 6-7 Hours
Namche Bazaar - The descent continues along the same route back to the terminal moraine at Duglha, passing through the beautiful villages of Pheriche, Orsho, and Shomare. Upon reaching Pangboche village, you can explore the oldest monastery in the region, which is said to house the scalp and bones of the legendary Yeti. Continuing over the bridge above the Dudh Koshi River and through the Dudh Koshi gorge, the path descends through pine forests to the Sansa trail junction. After lunch, the trail to Namche Bazaar continues, offering views of Mount Amadabla, Mount Lhotse, and glimpses of Everest and Tengboche along the way. Overnight stay in a lodge/tea house.
Day 12: Trek from Namche to Phakding and then to Lukla (2800m): 5-6 Hours
Lukla - The final day of the trek involves a steep descent. Trekkers should walk slowly and carefully on the rocky terrain until reaching the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi, passing through open plains and rhododendron forests while enjoying distant views of snow-covered mountains. Finally, you’ll reach Lukla. Overnight stay in a lodge/tea house.
Day 13: Flight back to Kathmandu
Kathmandu - Enjoy the mountain flight from Lukla to Kathmandu once again. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, it’s time to enjoy shopping and exploring the city. The evening is reserved for celebrating the successful completion of the Everest Base Camp trip. Overnight stay at the hotel.
