Travel to Pokhara (820m), overnight stay at hotel
Lakeside Road - Typically, travelers take a tourist bus or private vehicle, depending on the group size, to reach Pokhara via the highway, enjoying views of cultivated lands and mountains such as Ganesh Himal and Manaslu. Alternatively, a flight to Pokhara offers views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and Rolwaling. Transfer to Hotel Pokhara.
Drive to Nayapul - Trek to Ghandruk (1950m), 4/5 Hrs
Old Gurung Museum - After breakfast, a private vehicle will take you to Nayapul in about one and a half hours. The trekking adventure begins here, following a flat trail to Seuli Bazaar. At Birethati, cross the Modi Khola Bridge and continue right along the Modi River towards Ghandruk or Annapurna Sanctuary. The trail passes through charming villages, waterfalls, and cultivated lands. Ghandruk is renowned for its Gurung community, known for their service in the Gurkha military. The village offers stunning views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhare (Fishtail), as well as a beautiful valley. Visitors can explore the Gurung traditional museum for a fee. Ghandruk is the second-largest Gurung village in Nepal, with over 270 houses. Although a motor road to Ghandruk exists, it is rough.
Trek to Chhomrong (2210m), 4/5 Hrs
Chhomrong - The trek continues through Ghandruk, leading to the traditional Gurung village of Kumrong Danda, offering new vistas. Descend to a small river and ascend to Kimrong and Dhiklyo Danda, where the trail from Ghorepani – Tadapani joins. The region is predominantly Gurung, culturally and religiously Buddhist. Upon reaching Chhomrong, enjoy refreshing views of the mountains and village.
Trek to Bamboo (2310m), 6 hrs
Ghandruk - Descend to the end of Chhomrong village, cross the Chhomrong River, and gradually ascend through small settlements and forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo. The last lodge is at Sinuwa, followed by Bamboo. Ensure you have enough drinking water and snacks. Some trails are steep, slippery, and rocky. The sound of the Modi River accompanies you on the Annapurna base camp trek. Bamboo is the destination for the night.
Trek to Deurali (3140m), 6 hrs
Deurali - The journey to Deurali passes through forests with wildlife, including langur monkeys. Follow the Modi River, experiencing tranquility along the trail, and pass through Dovan (2500m) and Himalaya (2840m) settlements with tourist lodges. Cross an avalanche area to reach Deurali.
Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m), 2 hrs - Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) 2hrs
Machhapuchhare - Due to avalanche risks, it is advised to inquire about conditions at Deurali or from returning trekkers. The path leads through an avalanche zone, bamboo, sparse birch forest, and moraine to Machhapuchhare Base Camp (MBC). After refreshments, continue to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), offering 360-degree views of the Annapurna Mountains.
Trek to Bamboo (2310m) 6/7 Hrs
Annapurna Base Camp Trek - Some trekkers opt to stay overnight at MBC and trek to Annapurna Base Camp early the next morning for photos and breakfast before returning to Bamboo the same day.
Trek to Jhinu (1780m), 5 hrs
Chhomrong - Retrace the path to Chhomrong – Talung, then descend to Jhinu Danda hot spring for a relaxing experience.
Trek to Pothana (1900m), 6 hrs
Trek to Ghatte Khola 2 hrs and drive 40 minutes to Pokhara
Phewa Tal (Fewa Lake) - A short trek from Pothana to Ghatte Khola takes about two hours, offering dramatic views of the Annapurna Himalayas and culturally rich villages. In autumn, the paddy fields are vibrant with yellow hues and lush green hills. A private vehicle will be ready at Ghatte Khola to transport you back to Pokhara, where you can refresh, have lunch, and enjoy sightseeing at Fewa Lake.
Return to Kathmandu
Thamel - Travelers typically return to Kathmandu by tourist bus or private vehicle, enjoying scenic views and an adventurous drive. Alternatively, flights are available, offering mountain views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and Rolwaling. Transfer to Hotel Kathmandu.
