Annapurna Base Camp trek in Nepal - Just got back from the Annapurna Base Camp trek, and honestly, it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. The mountain views were absolutely jaw-dropping, and the lush green jungles along the way made it feel like we were walking through another world. But what really made the trip unforgettable was our guide, Madan. He wasn’t just knowledgeable — he was warm, funny, and made us feel like part of his family. He shared so much about Nepali life and culture, and his kindness really stood out every single day. Our porters, Rabin and Bishnu, were absolute legends too. They carried our bags with a smile, always made sure we were on the right path, and even helped us chat with locals when we wanted to buy things along the way. Couldn’t have asked for better company on the trail. The trek was challenging but so rewarding, and having a team that genuinely cared made all the difference. Madan, Rabin, and Bishnu — thank you for giving us memories we’ll be talking about for years.

Where the Mountains Feel Like Home: Our Third Adventure on the ABC trek with Madan and Ace the Himalaya - Review: Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Ace the Himalaya (October 2025) Our trek to Annapurna Base Camp with Ace the Himalaya in the second half of October 2025 was absolutely unforgettable. This was our third trek in Nepal (we’re two couples) with the same company — rightfully ranked #1 on TripAdvisor — and with the same incredible guide, Madan Kandel, the best guide anyone could ever hope for! We had previously completed the Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Circuit treks, but ABC was my favorite. The lower altitude made it more comfortable, and the lush cloud forests gave the trail a magical beauty unlike anything we’d seen on our other treks. Yes, there were lots of stairs — up and down! — which might challenge some people, but I actually enjoyed them. My personal secret: walk slow and steady, take fewer breaks, and listen to energizing music to keep my mind focused and positive. Of course, the real key to success was the incredible support of our team — our guide Madan and our wonderful porters, Bishnu and Rabin. Madan has guided us three years in a row, and he’s a big part of why we keep coming back. Over time, he has become more than a friend — he feels like family. He’s one of the most charismatic people I’ve ever met: joyful, funny, confident, easygoing, and kind. His motto is “Why not!” — a perfect reflection of his positive, can-do spirit. Whether we asked for “eggs over easy,” “cheese with our oats,” or “juicy apples,” Madan always made it happen. It may sound small, but when you’re trekking all day and food becomes your biggest comfort, his extra efforts made a world of difference. He went above and beyond to make meals enjoyable, even adding ingredients from our own cuisine. Our porters were equally amazing. We already knew Bishnu from last year’s Annapurna Circuit trek and were thrilled to have him with us again. Quiet but attentive, he was always nearby to lend a hand or offer encouragement. He’s also a fantastic dancer — we saw his moves during two celebrations along the trek: one at the start, joining a German group’s completion party, and another at the end during Diwali, dancing to traditional Nepali music. Those moments of song and dance were among my favorite highlights — such joyful, heartwarming glimpses into the spirit of the Nepali people. Rabin, our second porter, was new to us, but we loved him right away. Energetic, cheerful, he was always ready to help — whether giving directions, taking our meal orders, or just keeping our spirits high. Watching both porters carry loads heavier than their own weight up steep trails was simply awe-inspiring. The trek was full of unforgettable highlights: Sunrise at Poon Hill, The mystical rhododendron and cloud forests, Sparkling waterfalls of every size, The ever-changing views of Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre) — majestic from every angle, And the magical sunset and sunrise at Annapurna Base Camp itself. We also cherished our many encounters with local villagers, children, and animals along the way. When the trek ended, I felt genuinely sad — not ready to leave the mountains or say goodbye to our amazing team. But I know this isn’t the end. We’ll be back again to explore another beautiful corner of Nepal with Madan and Ace the Himalaya!

2nd time to use this great company and the same tour guide Ram - 2nd time with this company. Last year my daughter and I did EBC, and this year I brought a group of 11 hikers , we just finished ABC. Excellent company, the owner Prem always organized the great trips for us and we knew we were in good hands with his gracious service. Also excellent tour guide, we specifically asked to use the same tour guide Ram due to his wonderful work from last year. Yes, we will come back, of course we will use the same company and the same tour guide Ram, because they are SO Good!!!

An amazing experience! - We had a unforgettable experience coming to ABC in October 2025. After the recent unrest there were many hiccups, including flight cancellations, but Sujan Khatry from ACE accommodated to all the itinerary changes as well as answered any questions we had before arriving in Kathmandu. Sunil Ghale, our guide and our porters, Dhan Ghale and Bal Limbu ensured we were comfortable and well taken care of the entire trip. From ensuring we had accomodation at every location, to choosing cozy tea houses away from the masses, it was a dream trekking with ACE. Sunil made sure we were safe all through the trek, from safe food recommendations at each tea house, filtering our water, briefing us for the day ahead, and making sure we got to the tea hous each day. Bal and Dhan carried our heavy duffels at lightning speeds up the mountains and greeted us with warm smiles as we arrived each day, making sure our trek was comfortable with all our necessities. All in all it was an amazing experience and we are looking forward to the next adventure with ACE!

The Perfect ABC experience - Our experience was amazing. The timing was perfect and our guide Sunil Ghale had the best extra recommendations and change in itinerary to ensure we had the best food, view and lodges every night. Every recommendation led us to quiet peaceful lodges, great views and food. He also had a great sense of humor and his adventurous spirit really kept us going. He also helped point out great vistas, named mountains for us and especially called us out to witness Annapurna at night after a cloudy day! Along with our two porters Bal Limbu and Dhan Ghale who always kept us smiling with their amazing attitude and smiles. They always waited to welcome us to the lodge for the night, and raced ahead the next morning to hold rooms for us at our next stop. We were really blessed to have these members of Ace with us, we felt very lucky that we got just about the perfect experience you could have. Thank you Sunil, Dhan, Bal!
