Kazinga Channel - Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kalinzu Forest and Boat Cruise
In the morning, the guide will take you to Kalinzu Forest for a chimpanzee trekking experience. Walk through the beautiful jungle and encounter chimpanzees. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This two-hour boat ride offers sightings of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and birds along the shores. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge. -
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Day 3: Tree-Climbing Lions and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, head to the Ishasha section of Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for tree-climbing lions. The game drive offers opportunities to spot lions, topis, and buffaloes. Continue the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge. -
Lake Bunyonyi - Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Evening Cultural Visit
Enjoy an early breakfast before meeting fellow gorilla trekkers at the Park Headquarters at 7:00 am for a briefing. Learn how to behave around mountain gorillas and what to expect. Be assigned a gorilla family and proceed to the trailhead for a 2-4 hour trek through dense jungles to find the allocated gorilla family. The trek can be challenging, involving muddy trails and misty vegetation, but the face-to-face encounter with mountain gorillas and spending an hour with them is rewarding. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch. Later, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia Cottage Lake Bunyonyi. -
Entebbe - Day 5: Return to Kampala/Entebbe for Departure
Begin the day with breakfast at the lodge before checking out and departing for Kampala or Entebbe. This 8-9 hour journey includes a stop in Mbarara Town for lunch, continuing to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for your return flight (if scheduled for 21:00 hours or later). Alternatively, if your flight is earlier, depart via Kigali International Airport, which is 3-4 hours away. Located in the south-western side of Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the most popular gorilla trekking destinations sheltering more than half the World’s surviving population of mountain gorillas in more than 40 families, 20 of which are habituated for trekking. Bwindi Forest was gazetted into a National Park in 1991 and was later declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is found in the western part of Uganda at the backdrop of the Rwenzori Mountains and offers a medley of wonders including over 95 species of mammals as well as over 600 species of birds, Chimpanzee Trekking in Kalinzu Forest.
