The opulent gardens, owned by the royal Karangasem family, span 1.2 hectares and include pools, ponds, and fountains, surrounded by manicured lawns, stepping stones, ornate statues, and tropical gardens.
• Lempuyang Temple - Among Bali’s oldest and most revered temples, comparable to Besakih, the ‘mother temple’ of Bali. It is believed to predate most Hindu temples on the island. A must-visit for the adventurous, the main temple is situated at 1,175 meters above sea level on Mount Lempuyang in East Bali. Visitors can reach the heights via a steep staircase of over 1,700 steps, with attractions along the way including several other temples and groups of grey long-tailed macaques inhabiting the cool mountain forests.
