• River Kwai - The Khwae Yai River, also referred to as the Si Sawat, is located in western Thailand. Originating in the Tenasserim Hills, it travels approximately 380 kilometers through the districts of Sangkhla Buri, Si Sawat, and Mueang in Kanchanaburi Province, where it joins the Khwae Noi to form the Mae Klong River at Pak Phraek.
• Bridge Over the River Kwai - The bridge on the River Kwai, famously depicted in the 1957 film and the book by Pierre Boulle, is part of the notorious Death Railway, constructed during World War II from 1942 to 1943.

The railway linked Kanchanaburi in Western Thailand with Rangoon in Myanmar, then known as Burma, spanning about 415 kilometers. Construction commenced on both ends in June 1942, progressing towards each other, and was completed in October 1943 when the two sides met.

• Kanchanaburi War Cemetery - The Kanchanaburi War Cemetery serves as the primary burial site for prisoners of war who perished under Japanese captivity while constructing the Burma Railway. It is situated on Saeng Chuto Road, the main thoroughfare in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, next to an older Chinese cemetery.
• JEATH War Museum - This modest museum, established in 1977, primarily highlights the severe hardships faced by the POWs who built the Death Railway. It features numerous original photographs, letters, and drawings from that era, along with personal items and war artifacts, including an unexploded Allied bomb intended to destroy the bridge. One of the three galleries is constructed from bamboo, resembling the attap shelters where the POWs resided.
