A great tour with guide Saya - Saya Mayashita was a great guide for our half day tour of Kanazawa. She was really flexible, helping one of us change our train ticket and as we had done some things the afternoon before, was happy to add in some other sites and stop for some shopping! She was very knowledgeable about the geiko lives historically and currently which was fascinating. She was really lovely and enhanced our experience hugely. Thank you very much Saya, from Pat, Julie and Paul.

Wonderful tour experience - Wonderful time touring around the Kenrokuen gardens, taking in all the Sakura trees and learning about the history of the garden and feudal lord of Kanazawa. Reiko was very knowledgeable, personable and made us feel welcomed to be in her city. The 4 hour walk was a pleasure. We walked around the castle grounds and visited the old samurai district as well.

Great tour of Kanazawa. - The tour of Kanazawa was arranged through Audley travel who used a local Japanese company Exotravel. The tour was wonderful - Fumi our Japanese guide was a wealth of information and took us firstly to a descendant of the Samurai who had a collection of short and long Samurai swords 300 years old and more - he explained their history, how they were made, and gave us a demonstration on a roll of tatami of just how sharp they are. Absolutely fascinating. We then explored the beautiful. Kenrokuen gardens, stunning Sakura (cherry blossom) and explaining the history of the gardens and myany interesting facts such as how the trees are protected from the heavy snow in the winter. Would unreservedly recommend.

Wonderful Time in Kanazawa with Nozomi - My husband and I were fortunate to spend two half-days with Nozomi in Kanazawa. She was a truly fun, friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable guide. Nozomi thoughtfully planned our tours, taking into account the potential for rainy weather and making the best use of our time. She expertly guided us around the city, and our time with her felt more like an immersive experience than a tour, as she actively engaged us with every person and site we visited. Some of our highlights included attending a tea ceremony, visiting two local artisans, and touring a former samurai residence. She also provided us with an email full of additional recommendations for sights to explore on our own. We truly enjoyed learning about the history and culture of Kanazawa with Nozomi, and it was clear that she wanted us to have a memorable experience—and we truly did.
