Kamakura terrific, bring cash, take the train from Tokyo instead. - Kamakura was terrific. Easy drive of about an hour to the first temple. All the temples are within 10-15 minute drive of each other. Temples and the big Buddha are in good shape. Not too crowded like other sites. Bring cash. Many of the temples and museums only take cash. The site and the driver did not tell us or mention any where. Also many of the stores and restaurants only take cash. This is not a guided tour even though the site said it has an English speaking guide. The driver did not accompany us any where he waited with the car. He did not know much about the sites or history. He got lost twice on the drive back to Tokyo. Even with his gps. That said the van was clean and comfortable but did not have water bottles as claimed in the on line site. For the price and service provided we could have taken the train and taxis for 1/3 the cost and had the same experience. However it was raining and having the car with us made it worth 3 stars.
