Ngong Hills - Begin your adventure with a pick-up from your hotel or the airport at 7:45 a.m., followed by a drive to the Ngong Hills, where the hike will commence.
Arrive by 9:00 a.m. and enjoy hiking across all the peaks that form a series along the mountain, with our guides providing insights into the area’s history.
The hike up Ngong Hills starts from Ngong town at the northern base of the hills, 1,961 meters above sea level, and spans the entire range to the southern end at Kona Baridi. This journey takes approximately 4 to 5 hours to complete. The initial kilometer from Ngong Police Station involves a gradual ascent through residential areas until reaching a barrier that marks the beginning of the Ngong Hills forest reserve. From this point, you will pass a wind farm before ascending the first steep hill, which is home to several radio repeater station masts.
The trail narrows and descends into a valley before emerging onto the next steep hill. Just when you think the toughest part is over, the rolling hills continue to appear, each presenting its own challenge. To your right, enjoy a stunning view of the Great Rift Valley, while on the far left, you can see the City of Nairobi. Your tour will conclude at 1:00 p.m., after which you will depart Ngong Hills for Nairobi.
