Chicken Church - Continue the adventure to Bukit Rema Chicken Church. A giant cement chicken perched on a forested hill overlooking Borobudur might seem unexpected, but this is no tall tale. In the late 1980s, Daniel Alamsjah, who seems like a good egg, albeit a bit eccentric, created this unique structure.

Prambanan Temples - The Prambanan Temple Compounds include Prambanan Temple (also known as Loro Jonggrang), Sewu Temple, Bubrah Temple, and Lumbung Temple. Prambanan Temple itself is a complex of 240 temples. These temples form the Prambanan Archaeological Park, constructed during the peak of the Sailendra dynasty’s power in Java in the 8th century AD.

Ngadisari, Kalikajar - On the second day, travel to Mount Bromo and enjoy the stunning landscapes along the way while a friendly driver navigates the notorious traffic. Upon arrival at Mount Bromo, visit Madakaripura Waterfall to marvel at this spectacular natural wonder. Once settled into the accommodation, enjoy some free time to explore the area and prepare for the sunrise the next day.

Mount Bromo - Banyuwangi City

Mount Bromo - Early morning, around 3:00 am, a driver will pick you up to head to Mount Penanjakan View Point to watch the magnificent sunrise at the observation deck around 4:30 am.

After sunrise, drive across the “Sea of Sand” desert. See the whispering sand and Luhur Temple by jeep, descending into the black volcanic Sea of Sand. If you wish to walk in this magnificent landscape, just ask the driver to stop. Otherwise, the driver will take you to the parking area from where your hike to Mount Bromo begins.

Take a walk or horse ride (at your own expense) to Mount Bromo Crater. Enjoy the stunning view from Bromo Crater.

Then, it’s a 45-minute walk to the top of Mount Bromo. Take your time in this inspiring grey-greyish landscape. Bromo is an active volcano—not the highest peak—in the middle of Sand Sea, a protected nature reserve since 1919. Depending on the activity of Volcano Bromo, the Indonesian Center of Volcanology issues warnings.

After enjoying the sights of Bromo and the Sea of Sand, return to the hotel at 8:00 am for breakfast and a refreshing shower before checking out. The next destination is Ijen Crater, Banyuwangi via Bondowoso City at 11:00 am, with a long car journey of about 6 hours.

Arrive at Jampit Village, Banyuwangi Region around 6-7 PM, and check in at Ijen Catimor, Arabica, or a similar homestay. You can purchase dinner from the hotel (at your own expense). Rest at the hotel before continuing the next adventure to see the blue fire at Mount Ijen.

Mount Ijen Crater

Ijen Crater - On the final day, the tour starts in the middle of the night as you head to the Ijen Crater, which takes around 2 hours. Hike up to the Ijen Crater for about 90 to 120 minutes, where you can witness the fascinating beauty of Ijen Crater. After exploring the crater, you have the option to return to your hotel or proceed to Ketapang Harbor for those continuing to Bali, Surabaya City, or another destination.
