Proper sushi making with a professional - We loved our experience making sushi. Our instructor was informative, knowledgeable, and kind. He taught us all the steps of how to hadle the fish and the rice as well as in depth details of the reason behind it. Our tween son even enjoyed the two hours despite not eating sushi. He did enjoy the extra tamago sushi he was able to eat. The fish was incredibly fresh amd the institute has its own brand of soy sauce, sake, cooking wine and vinegar. The space itself is a quality professional kitchen. We were so full afterwards as well from eating all of our creations and had to walk it off afterwards.

Sashimi Cutting Class - My friend and I took the Sashimi Cutting class and coming from the U.S. and not speaking Japanese, appreciated the friendly knowledgeable interpreter Kaego and our instructor Naoya, who went to culinary school and worked at several top sushi restaurants in Japan. We learned fish cutting techniques with all fresh ingredients in a professional kitchen, also learning some nice dish presentation techniques. This all led to each of us preparing a kaisendon dish which we ate along with some delicious sake…oishi-des!!

Would like to take another class offered by Kappodo! - Great experience! This was my first time using a Japanese knife. From the explanation of making the knife to putting together our dish, the staff were friendly, kind, informative, and extremely helpful in answering all of my questions. Even though the knives were heavy, using them was almost effortless once you learned the proper way to stand and slice the fish. We ended the experience with a tuna bowl, miso soup, sake, and tea. Highly recommended for friends and even team-building.
