Absolutely Worth It - I'm so glad I booked this experience! Lena's studio feels like a creative sanctuary. The variety of antique kimono fabrics is incredible – silk brocades, traditional prints, vibrant colors – all authentic and beautifully preserved. The result is a piece of art that's uniquely mine yet deeply connected to Japanese tradition. This experience offers something no store-bought souvenir can match!

Unique, well-run team-building experience in Tokyo - I booked the workshop for my tech team as a corporate team-building activity in Tokyo, and it was excellent. The experience was well organized, inclusive, and engaging, even for engineers who don’t consider themselves creative. Working with antique kimono textiles felt meaningful, meditative and calming, and it created real connection within our group. Professional, thoughtful, and genuinely memorable. A great choice for corporate teams looking for a unique team-building experience in Tokyo.

Our Favorite Creative Date in Tokyo - We loved this workshop. It was one of the most special experiences we had in Tokyo. Spending time together choosing antique kimono fabrics and turning them into a piece of art for our home felt really meaningful and fun. Lena was warm, patient, and easy to talk to, and her explanations about the fabrics made the process even more interesting without feeling like a lesson. The time passed so quickly, but it never felt rushed. We left with beautiful artworks and a memory we’ll always connect to our trip to Japan. Highly recommend this for couples looking for something creative and different.

Treasure I want to keep forever - This was the most unique cultural experience I've had in Tokyo! Lena is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about kimono. I loved touching and selecting from authentic antique fabrics – each piece told a story. The hands-on process of transforming vintage kimono into modern textile art felt both meditative and creative. I left with a stunning piece that now hangs in my living room, reminding me daily of Japanese craftsmanship. This isn't just a souvenir, it's a meaningful artwork I'll treasure forever. Highly recommend for anyone seeking something truly special!

We made custom keepsakes and marvelous memories - This kimono art experience was a great way to end our Japan trip. The gallery was intimate and cozy, and the art inside was beautiful. Lena-san was patient, friendly and knowledgeable. She told us about the elements in the designs we chose, which helped us understand their meanings. We look forward to putting our cherished art up at home. We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone interested in kimono, art, cultural heritage, or making a unique custom keepsake.

I took a piece of kimono history, and art, home. - Lena has a lot of experience in Kimono fabric and their history. It is a hands-on class so you will be the one making the piece you choose to make. You select a pattern first and then a frame style ( rectangle or round canvas), because the canvas style will mostly depend on the pattern you will be using, so pattern first and then frame style. Lena helped me when I needed it, but it was great that she watched over my work and spotted areas where I could improve, without doing the work for me. In the end, I truly have the feeling that I made the entire piece myself. I went back home not only with a beautiful finished product but the box she gave you to carry and protect it, truly looks like a gift box. So, you may think of someone else when making your art and gifting it to that person. The time spent went fast - because it was fun! - but it was enough to not feel rushed at all. I recommend this activity alone or in a group, but if you go with someone else, don't fight over the same fabric to use ;-) Lena has plenty to choose from. Enjoy as much as I did !
