Fabulous Soy Sauce Factory Tour - Fabulous experience with Chikara who took us to Tokuboshi Soy Sauce (Shoyu) for a factory tour. Learnt about soy sauce making using traditional cedar vats, then squeezed our own soy sauce to take home. Fun. Fascinating.

Soy Sauce Squeezing - I enjoyed the historical and traditional atmosphere. We were fortunate enough to have a private session of the soy sauce brewing experience. The staffs were excellent and friendly. We had initially arrived to the brewery location but were kindly escorted to souvenir shop to begin the journey.

Get away from crowd and experience a wholesome activity - Amazing experience!! My fiancé and I were the only ones who booked that day so it was pretty much a private event. Very wholesome experience and you definitely get away from the crowds. Highly recommended. Got to squeeze fresh fermented soy bean and got to take it with us essentially as a souvenir. Decorated our own bottle!! When I have soy sauce I will think about this place :)

Best experience ever! - If there is one thing to do in Japan, it is this. This experience should be on the top of your list. While a bif hard to get to, it was a joy to experience pressing, bottling, and tasting soy sauce made locally in Asuka, Japan. Next year, Asuka is going to be a designated World Heritage site. Our guide, 力、 told us all about the area and its history. We got to learn all about the steps of making soy sauce, wear costumes to keep our clothes clean, and go up to the barrels to see the fermentation! It was one of the coolest things and quite possibly the highlight of our time here! Thank you to Chikara and the wonderful staff!
