• Tea Ceremony & Sake Tasting Kyoto – Sanjo Chasuian - This is more than just a matcha experience.
  In this tea ceremony, participants will explore the meaning and philosophy behind each movement—rooted in mindfulness, respect, and Japanese tradition.

Instead of merely learning how to prepare matcha, this experience emphasizes the significance of each gesture and the intention behind it.

This plan is a group session with other guests. Please bring or wear socks. (Socks are available on-site for ¥200)
*To maintain a calm atmosphere, guests with children under 6 years old or requiring an interpreter must book the Private Plan. If booked incorrectly under the Shared Plan, participation and refunds will not be possible.

*Standard kimono rental or dressing services are not offered, but an optional Uchikake (coat-style kimono) experience is available for ¥1,500 (tax included). Please inform the staff on the day. Advance reservations are not accepted, and quantities are limited.

*The tea ceremony is held in a serene atmosphere and to avoid disturbing other guests, please note:
・Entry is allowed from 5 minutes before the start time.
・Once the session begins, the door will be locked. Even being 1 minute late means you cannot join and no refunds will be given.

The session starts with an enlightening introduction to the cultural background and philosophy of the tea ceremony. Participants will then watch a demonstration by the host, where each movement is executed with care, precision, and purpose. Following this, attendees will prepare their own matcha, with step-by-step guidance.

By the end of the session, participants will not only learn how to make matcha but also gain a deeper appreciation of Japanese culture and experience a sense of tranquility. This experience is perfect for those seeking something more meaningful than a typical tourist activity.

Included are two bowls of Matcha (one prepared by the host and one made by the participant or with a companion) and traditional seasonal Japanese sweets. The venue is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Subway Karasuma Oike Station.

Participants can also continue the experience at home by preparing matcha for themselves or someone special, using carefully selected tea bowls and matcha available for purchase at the venue.
