The Journey Begins: A Scenic Road Trip

As the sun rose over Johannesburg, I embarked on a journey that promised to be as thrilling as it was enlightening. The road trip to Hazyview via the Panorama Route was a feast for the senses. Our first stop, the Three Rondavels, offered a breathtaking view of the third-largest canyon on earth. The sheer magnitude of the landscape was humbling, and as I stood there, camera in hand, I couldn’t help but think of the ancient forces that shaped this land over 200 million years ago.

Our guide, Stan, was a fountain of knowledge, sharing stories of the early inhabitants and the unique flora and fauna that call this region home. His passion for South Africa’s rich history and culture was infectious, and I found myself hanging on his every word. The Bourkes’ Luck Potholes were another highlight, a natural wonder that spoke to the power of water and time.
