Bring your appetite - A great tour of the Fordsburg neighbourhood of Joburg. A mix of so many cultures. Our guide Gilda knew all the tasty spots to stop and try delicious foods from all round the world. A really interesting part of the city.

We are foodies - Loved the adventure trying new foods. Tried everything and was pleasantly surprised how much I loved it all. Thanks Gilda for exposing us to very different cultural foods.

Delicious Food & Good Company! - Gilda, our guide, was fantastic! Very knowledgeable on the area, the food, the people. Was such an incredible evening. Note: if you do the experience on a Saturday, do the earlier time as the street art shops close at 2pm so we missed that part, which we would have loved to enjoy!

Gilda's extensive knowledge of the surrounding area and excellent relationship with the local community shines through. Absolutely wonderful tour and of course, the food is amazing. 10/10 would recommend

Great adventure - Gilda was an outstanding and knowledgeable guide. We had a great time wandering around the old parts of Jo'berg. Great variety of wonderful food we sampled. Highly recommend this tour. Suggestion... bring napkins or moist towelettes to clean up between samples.

Best food tour we’ve ever been on - The conversation with Gilda, the guide was as delightful as the food served on the tour. The pacing was relaxed even though we covered a lot of ground.

Experience New Cultures - The food options were good. The host is well known by the vendors. There location can be a bit intimidating at first, but the vendor ensures safety at all times. I wish a little more historical context could have been provided.

Food tour first thing in Joburg! - Three of us did this tour with Gilda. We were late arriving at the Joburg airport and hence a few minutes late for the start of the tour. Fortunately it was only the three of us on the tour. We tried middle eastern and Indian food which was all really good! Make sure you come hungry and are not offended easily as Gilda likes to joke around!

It was fun seeing stores and places I wouldn't normally have seen, but.... - Gilda was our guide. It was a fun tour, however... Our group contained 9 people. 5 were close friends of hers. Gilda really talked to them the most. The other 4 people mainly listened to their stories and experiences that they had shared, all throughout the tour. We explained food sensitivities (mine: no spicy foods, others had issues with dairy) right away, as the tour started. Gilda did not handle these well at all. Almost half the food was spicy and no alternatives were offered. When I re-verbalized that I couldn't eat spicy, she just said, "Oh, you should have told me before I bought it." (I had), and "Oh so you can't eat this, or this, or that." It was quite frustrating. This was definitely not as good a food tour as others I've taken. Perhaps it would have been better without her friends there.
