Great Tour through the real Soweto - This tour was exactly what we were looking for: giving an insight into the real life in Soweto and not only the typical touristic sites.
We even had the opportunity to walk through some streets in Soweto and to experience the local life and community.
We always felt very safe during the tour.
We can only recommend it for everyone being in Johannesburg!

A real and down to earth experience. Highly Recommend - I found Tsalanangs tour super informative, engaging and a real proper experience in giving us insight into the history of Johannesburg and Soweto. I really loved the personal walk through Soweto with his friend through the streets as it demonstrated how safe and friendly the community is. I also loved that Tsalanang was so open about the reality of how challenging life is for the locals through stories of his own personal experience as a victim of crime in Johannesburg and how criminals are treated as I believe it’s important tourists understand what it’s like to grow up in such challenging conditions. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but personally I loved that he gave us the real experience and not something that panders to your typical “touristy” experience. Thankyou Tsalanang, loved it.

Insightful personal tour with a great guide. - Thabang was knowledgeable and informative and pitched his tour at the right level for my 11 and 13 year olds to learn lots, and maintain their interest throughout. We were taken to some neighborhoods off the beaten track, but always felt safe and was really insightful to see the different sides of Soweto. Definitely recommend.

A very meaningful tour of the history of Soweto and the 1976 Student Uprising - Excellent tour, very informative and our guide really cared that our experience was meaningful and memorable. I learned so much. Furthermore we were very comfortable and had plenty of time in the Hector Pietersen Museum. I came away feeling deeply appreciative

Informative half day tour to Soweto - Fabulous half day tour to Soweto. Thabang (our tour guide) was knowledgeable, informative, and a proud local. He adapted the tour to take us off the beaten track. We visited a local village and met some local kids.

Really interesting... - Really interesting insight into a much misunderstood part of Africa. Our guide Thabang gave us a very thorough and well-explained background to Soweto and we visited some of the worst areas where the inhabitants were very friendly. A memorable experience.

Five Star Tour by Thabang - Thabang was our guide, can’t believe this was his first tour since mid-December. He is a truly authentic guide with great knowledge and a man who is passionate about his routes. He offered us a lived-experience insight into the United States of Soweto and made sure our trip was very special, showing us the side of Soweto that the media doesn’t want you to see.
